7.62 bore snake?

Well...with all my other bore snakes it takes effort to pull them out...so they are working correctly and well...with the .30 cal one it comes out easy enough to do it with your pinky finger...so its not really working too great.

OTIS makes 1 in 7.62 and 1 for 308. I had to go to MD Charlton to get it just to figure out that it was the 308 1 that they sold me but the great thing about OTIS is that I just stopped by Reliable afterwards and got the 7.62 brass brush tip and it works with this kit.
Hope this helps.

.308 is the BULLET diameter - The bore of your rifle is still .30

I suspect that your snake is just worn out - It happens. Try running it through the washing machine - Wash it alone, NOT with your wife's delicates.

A bore snake and delicates should NOT go together.

One thing..... if you are using a boresnake with a synthetic pull (as opposed to a vinyl covered cable like the Otis kits) make sure to inspect the pull for fray / wear. Seen a few of these break halfway up the barrel and it becomes a real PITA to remove!

Odd. I have two 7.62 rifles and my .30 pistol boresnake works just dandy.

That's right, I have a pistol one because apparently they make pistol versions as well. It's just long enough to slip down the bore. Much nicer than my .17 cal one that's about an American football field too long. But I digress. The real reason I have a pistol one is because I bought it and didn't realize exactly what it was until I got to my Jeep. It was on sale, so I figured I'd chance it. Never needed the "rifle" one.

The difference between .308 and 7.62mm is not enough for me to deep six the boresnake and bust my nut looking for a 7.62mm one. It cleans my rifles fine.

We go through lots of the Bore Snakes for the 58/858's (.308) and the 5.56s

Also stock a large amount of Otis which guys love.
