Been seeing a trend in WWII photos

It seems like the Soviet Naval infantry used the SVT40 alot, I wonder if they had a better experience with them? Maybe they used them after the war too?

The Soviet marines were more of an elite force than the regular army, better trained, etc. They could probably deal with the more complex SVT without any problems - along the lines of the Germans and Finns, who loved them.

Contrast that to the USMC  , who kinda "doggedly hung onto/were stuck with" the bolt-action 1903 (still in Guadalcanal, and basically until late 1942 IIRC ).....;)....

The Russians always seemed to be on the "front lines" (..:D...) of wider issuance of semi-auto and full-auto firearms....:)

slightly off topic, but i'm curious... in the 2nd last picture, the fellow looks asian, how would one end up in his position? Volunteer or captured and conscripted some way?

I'm not very familiar with such specific details and facts in history

Russia is a huge country with lots of asian's in it's borders, Am sure he was told get on the F'ing train and put on this uniform "your going to the west side of the USSR now lol"

Just came back from the range, where I took one my SVT's - what a blast to shoot. No bruise on my shoulder, but I have a cherry sized bruise on my cheek just in front of my ear where it touches the stock. FUN!

Interesting photos "showing Mosin dog collar slings on SVT40s" seen other pics too

I guess the sling that comes with your SVT is historically accurate :)

My SVT is the best shooter of all my milsurp, shoot 600 times without having a single malfuction, set on 1.3 would not be scared to be to the front with such a rifle it is a workhorse, both my Svt and my Garand are full proof, not shooting milsurp ammo shooting MFS 145 gr fmj new production clean my rifle once every 3 outings but do oil the system everytime i shoot it... JP.
