Sure..but your right...how durable is it going to be.Most "Rattle can" paint jobs look good but are only semi durable. I am an auto body painter by trade and when I'm serious about painting wood, plastic, or metals,..I start with HIGH Solids automotive primmer...it really anchors the paint.I also like using automotve grade paint....then its Durable

Yup. I painted mine a few times, just sand it good with some fine sand paper and spray lightly to build up the coat. There are a few stickies IIRC on painting. Ps don't forget to wipe it good before paint with some sort of de greaser to get rid of your skins oils that maybe on the stock.

Rub the surface down with scotch bright, wipe down with alcolol, get yourself some plastic adhesion promoter. Read the can and follow the instructions. Primer and paint. Also make sure that the primer and paint are compatible. I have painted lots of differnt plastics and that adhesion promoter is a must do step in my opinion. Especially for the mystery plastic on those stocks

I agree 110% CLEAN and PRIME, PRIME, PRIME ... A clearcoat is also a good idea but I have yet to find a true MATTE paint.

There are good camo paints available at DSTActical and other retailers but even Canadian Tire has standard flat matte camo enamels available ...

Take it to your local Pannel beater/car painter and get him to blast it with a coat of Matte clear .. absolutely solid stuff

I prefer Lacquer .. probably why you havent found a true matte if you're using enamel

Good idea. Looks like I might need to paint my stock this week at work.

i just sanded mine and put a few coats of OD green Krylon spray paint from wallmart .. its held up for 4 years now just fine..

no primer no clear coat after?

nope no primer or clear coat used i would never use clear because i dont want a shiny finish on a military style rifle i like the flat od green look .. The krylon has stood up very well to abuse and cleaning solvents, just make sure you let it dry 24 hours between coats and give the final coat a week to cure before using the stock.. Heres how mine looks after a few years ..

I agree 4 coats would be good. I did one coat of KRYLON over primer and the stock immediately chipped while on my wall mount :(

This is the non reflective stuff I get from CT Tactical ;)
