The NEA rifles...who else is in the "Seen 'em" club?

Midlengths

Of course I have to be that guy that asks if further down the road if you are looking to produce midlength gas system uppers? And also are you looking at offering complete uppers minus the handguards/rails so the buyer can install their preferred system?

You are not the only one interested in midlengths.;)

Greg

I just looked up the word "monolithic" in my COD.

I can't figure out how the dictionary definition applies to a firearm.

This question is asked in ignorance...in the purest sense of that word.

The hand guard and upper receiver are all one piece of solid material.

I'm an AR newb but cant wait to get my feet wet, I was going to ask the same question. Thanks for the answer Armedsask.

And now further to that question and answer:

What advantages does a monolithic upper offer? Or what is its intended usage.

How does one remove the barrel if the hand guards are part of the upper?

I cant wait for the NEA15! I have been holding off on an AR until these come out. Its number 1 on my short list.

A monolithic upper allows the barrel to be free floated and is usually stronger than a bolt on free float tube meaning it will be deflected less by the weight of accessories like lasers and lights. Lots of weight on the barrel shortens bolt life and can increase stoppages as you are bending the rifle. The free float pays off when you are shooting off bipods or applying lateral pressure to the barrel like when shooting off barricades at 400m.

To remove/install the barrel.
Some like Colt Canada have access ports so you can get at the barrel nut, others use an extra long socket that fits over the entire barrel and some like LMT use a proprietary locking system and proprietary barrels.

Couple questions about the monolithic upper. Is it free floated, and will it cover a low profile gas block on a carbine?

Some of you should do some exploring on the net before asking questions. Some of your answers are literally right infront of your eyes!

Greg

Why go else where when I know that people smarter than myself have the answers right here on CGN.

Most people don't seem to mind sharing there knowledge with others, you on the other hand seem to.

I'm just excited for a kick ass Canadian AR.

Thanks Gunner.

I've seen 'em, in photos that is. :p

Jeff from NEA emailed me some datasheets of their new AR and quad rails. They look amazing.
