H&k g36

Which one is it? You are contradicting yourself. :)

They fact is new ones are coming into the country to private people and some (enterprising) dealers, not through the conventional distributor channels (FN) as that is banned by HK so your comment about being in the retail business and knowing what the distributors are importing is irrelevant. Unless you are trying to get some 'street cred' with your comment. :D

re·al 1 (rl, rl)
adj.
1.
a. Being or occurring in fact or actuality; having verifiable existence: real objects; a real illness.
b. True and actual; not imaginary, alleged, or ideal: real people, not ghosts; a film based on real life.
c. Of or founded on practical matters and concerns: a recent graduate experiencing the real world for the first time.

So when are there more coming in to the country? Tell me, because I really want to know. :)

As you correctly stated... THEY ARE NOT COMING IN BY CONVENTIONAL DISTRIBUTOR CHANNELS!!! This means that any new units are coming in to the country either individually or in very small numbers, and one cannot predict when more will be coming in. Have I not made that clear? What is it they you don't get about what I've said, or are you just trolling?

Also, I couldn't give a sh!t what my 'street cred' on teh internets is, I was just making the point that I actually have first hand knowledge about what is being brought in to the country on a regular basis by distributors, and the G36 isn't on that list.

The fact that FN (exclusive HK distributor) is not allowed to sell G36s to the public is not exactly news to most people so there is no point to make there. Bottom line is no your can not predict when more will come but you can be sure that more will come and will continue to add to the number of G36s in Canada as long as there is demand and the price stays high. As I said before, slowly but surely. The people selling them will not be shouting "newly imported G36, come get them cheap!". Instead they will fly under the radar and get what the market will bare price wise when sold. ;)

Thanks for saying what I've already said.

Well this thread gave me the impression that someone is bringing them in? So lets "step up" I have the desire.

They will occasionally appear in civilian hands, but realistically you can't rely on more coming into the country. Importation is sporadic at best, and by whomever manages to get their hands on one.

Well this thread gave me hope, I'm nearing the end of my patience with the SCAR fiasco, and I've always been a HK fan.At least there is a FRT# for the G36 and it won't have to go to the RCMP for 2-3 years or maybe longer, who knows???

Uncle Walther and I have bought, sold, traded and shot more G36's than anyone I'm aware of on the board.

To Bracketman and others I don't care what you "think" the rifle should sell for or how many you "think" are coming into the country. This is all internet bull.

The start point to sell a G36 is 10K. Like it or not that is what it G36's go for right now.
Serious collectors are buying what they can and hanging onto them.
Don't care what you think of the weapon or it's operating system, or it's value.

Like Kolt said before, show me the pictures, or you're full of it.

Anyone on the board knows that they don't come up for sale very often. So all this talk of "how many there really are" and "what they should sell for" and "HK G36's trickling in through obscure sources" is bull.

Because I don't want to sell mine, I'm doubling the current starting point for selling a HK G36 at 20K.

Rich

PS: If, and I say IF the rifle was available in great numbers I'd say it's worth about 1K.

Let me get this straight .... you are saying greentips (the owner of CGN and the most respected member here) is full of "bull" when he says he personally counted 40 and the true number is most likely 60 to 80? :)

If you want proof of new imports of G36s look at the date codes on some of them, they dont lie.

With respect to date codes, my G36C is AC and my UMP is AF. I had 2 G36KP's, one AC and one AE, and I recently saw another G36KP that was AE. My G36P was AC. I am aware of only 6 people on CGN who own a G36 currently. But the rifles do switch hands from time to time. In any case, they are very difficult to find, and you'll need about $9K to have any hope of attracting a seller. I don't know why people are even arguing about this.

If what I've read is true, the reason the UMP's and G36's are in-country right now, are either sales from police departments or movie companies.

The RCMP changed the procedures a couple years ago to prohibit police departments from selling used firearms to individuals... Not sure about movie companies, and if they're held to the same rules.

But thats the reason we HAVE the ones we have, not that some company imported a bunch and sold them, but police departments and movie companies getting them then selling off. Now at least one of those is now cut off, and possibly the other, which is why I seriously doubt we'll see many more getting into civilian hands. Keep in mind, in order to GET a G36 or UMP (even the semi-only version) you need an End User certificate to get HK to sell to you.

Making claims on a gun forum that you can acquire rare H&K items that resell for roughly $10,000 at reasonable, fractional prices due to 'smart planning' is sort of like publishing that you have discovered a cure for cancer.

You're going to have about 15 minutes of buzz before everyone starts calling bull s**t.

Believe me. It isn't everyone else posting typical claims here who need to prove their case to retain their credibility. Several people questioning your claim own or have owned the firearms in question.

Which basically means that any G36's or UMP's that we see on the market right now were likely sold off in violation of the end user certificate.

Now theoretically, if there were a few other semi-only G36's floating around on the European civilian market (like here), they could potentially make their way into Canada, but that is subject to likely paying equally high prices over there, as well as export restrictions from the originating country.
