would you?

Nope.

I do not purchase Norinco firearms, nor do I willingly purchase any product from China.

No offence to those who do.

If Norinco had a clone of the pre 64 Winchester model 70 built, would you buy one?
Mike

a few (6-8??) years ago Lever in vancouver had some. In 30-06, 308, and I think they even had a 7.62x39.

They were pretty poorly made and they were around $350 if I recall.

And no, I didn't buy one.

I'm with Doug, there are so many nice guns made in N.A. that are well made, I don't see why you would want to ruin the name of Winchester Model 70.

What if the gun had a North American or European name brand applied to it, but everything was made in Turkey or Brazil? Surely then it would alright to purchase, so long as it didn't come from China. Can't be supporting the commies, even if we're paying muslims. MERICUH!!1

Despite less than stellar experiences with Norinco in the past, I'd have to think hard on it if they offered left-handed models for cheap.

For the most part, NOT INTERESTED!! For example, my pride & joy levergun/caliber combo is my model 71 deluxe in 348WCF.

I wouldn't mind using the 71 action for a custom in say 50 cal but I'm not interested in bastareizing something classic to get one. However;), my buddy has a Browning 71 reproduction, now that I'd use as the basis for a custom 50.

NO.....RING...........KO.............

NOT A HOPE IN HELL.

Doesn't roll of the tongue in a nice fashion either.
Right up there with Jysk.
