would you?

Well, they made a few as I referred to above.

Trust me, there were no hand fitted parts.

Exactly what I mean. The Pre 64 Mdl 70 was synonymous with high quality and hand fitting. Just because the Norinco machine will ka chunk out similar parts, won't make it a Pre-64 Mdl 70. :)

It's possible that a guy could get one of these Norincos and polish it and smooth it up, tune it etc. I've seen some Norinco handguns that have been tuned up and aftermarket parts added and they looked quite nice- as well as functioned very well.

For the most part, NOT INTERESTED!! For example, my pride & joy levergun/caliber combo is my model 71 deluxe in 348WCF.

I wouldn't mind using the 71 action for a custom in say 50 cal but I'm not interested in bastareizing something classic to get one. However;), my buddy has a Browning 71 reproduction, now that I'd use as the basis for a custom 50.

John...I'd love to fill a backpack with enough food and drink for a week.....then just roam around your gun locker looking at alllllllll them purty guns. Hopefully I'd get to see them all before i ran out of grub :D :D
annnnnd....ya must have a big box full of them moose medals...I'd sure like to have just one of them ;)

You got some real beautiful guns there Man!!

Nope. Nothing against Norinco firearms (own a Norc 1911-A1) But as Gatehouse mentioned, I did have to do some tweaking and added a couple things. If I felt the need for a pre-64 Model 70 (.300 H&H Magnum) only an original would do :)

i think i'll chime in here... when i was in the market for a lever action i bought a NEW winchester model 70 30-30carbine but it was made in china, turned out to be the worst piece of crap i bought, i quickly sold it. after that i went looking for an aged win 70 30-30 carbine made in the US, found one and the quality is exceptionally better, better metal better wood better everything. not sure how norinco would do, but im staying away from china stuff at least for now :D...

By golly, I did not know that Winchester made a Model 70 in .30-30, or in a carbine for that matter. And I had no idea that Winchester moved any of their production to China either. The things I learn on this forum!

Oops, they were both 94 win carbines, sorry my mistake:redface:.

That does make more sense to me, for sure - but seriously, I had not heard that Winchester had ANY guns made in China, including the 94s???????????

Doug

does winchester outsource?. im sure the stamping said made in china, but it was along time ago i could be mistaken. i do know the rifle was'nt made in the US.

If they did started producing anything that even came close to a pre64 in fit/finish I would imagine it would be 500-600.

Seeing as I can get a good used post64 push feed, I have two right now and more in the past, for around 450 dollars, then I don't see a real market for them.

M14S = $429.00 M1A = $2200.00
Nork 1/5 price for 150% better receiver and 60% rest of parts. Great deal. I own one and love it.

CQa556 = 675.00 Budget US AR 1300.00

Nork 1/2 price , good deal, nothing close to the M-14 though. I own 1 and love it.

Nork pre64 clone =500.00-600.00, Good used post64 M70s for 400-500.00.
Sorry, no deal here. I'll take what works jusy fine for the same price made in the USA.:canadaFlag:

Time for me to chime in again..........someones gotta stir the pot:nest:.
I own two Norincos now, and one Polytech; all are very well built (especially for the money); I havn't tried the 22, but my 45, and my 305 work flawlessly. Quite frankly, tyhe only POS that I own at this time says "made in Germany"......this takes me to my next point.
China is not actually a communist country anymore, that's why we're able to buy stuff from them. They are actually what you would call a facist country, and if your against buying stuff from such, get rid of your Mausers, and Lugers boys.
I'm not pro-facist myself, but really, we're buying stuff from Muslim countries that are allowing stoning of women in the streets, and we're not willing to buy stuff from China...........get real.
I tend to wonder if there is a biast against buying Chines due to a skin colour tainted prejudice that leads us to falsely believe that they could never build anything at the same quality that someone in North America can.
Which leads me to my next point; China is willing to sell us any gun that we want; last time I checked the good ol U.S of A isn't (and no, I'm not anti American, I actually have some roots there).

Thanks guy:D. For the most part, anything I've acquired is for use as a shooter. Admittedly, ;)although there haven't haven't been many but if they aren't used, they're history, and in a few instances:redface:, I've ended up purchasing the same as what I've parted with.

The Moose medals you refer to is actually a trivet, used primarily when I have meals in my den while watching the tube.

The other main 'Moose' item in some of my photos is one of a set of coasters, ;)again, for use in the den.

As you've mentioned backpacks, here's a photo with one, combined with one of a vintage to match my model 71 plus a pair of caulk boots from my time spent in the bush. Kept them just for hunting in the timber.

I'm prejudiced alright, against junk! If norinco or any Chinese company will make something that I want and make it well for a good price I'll buy it but for now I will not trust my hunt, my life or my family's lives to a norinco.
