s**t most of you guys are better then most PPC Grand Masters in north America... You guys should start competing... I shoot along with the best shooter in my province and on a good day is groups are never under 2-3" at 25 meters.
1.5" at 25? lol... Standing unsupported?
Grand masters from USA and western Canada will group 4" (all "X" and 10 ring )at 25 meters all day long. Of course you are timed and we shoot from different positions. Standing unsupported most of the course. But still...
These threads are always funny. I surely don't see that kind of skills at the range very often.
I say under a short time lapse with a duty type of pistol, under 8" ( down to the 9 and some 8 ring shots ) at 25 is good. Standing unsupported.
We constantly shoot 2" ( X ring ) from 3 to 7 meters. We kind of keep them all in the 10 ring ( 4" ) up to 15 meters. After that it's another story that depends on the stress , time limit, shooting position etc...
Cheers.
I'm glad you said that, I was starting to feel pretty bad about my shooting.
....There is no magic to shooting straight if time permits!
I'm a casual shooter and OK with most of my handguns at 10m - if I can get a mag all into a 2 inch square I'm happy. At 25-30 m I'm not so good. With my CZ75 Shadow or my S & W 686 shooting single action I can get a 4-5 inch group. With others i'm happy to hit paper.
I have some handguns that will not do that at all, no matter what I do. They are all "minute of pie plate", and some days that's all you can do. - dan

Pffft these guys are nothing, if i can't group 1.5" unsupported with a autoloader at 50 yards, I am not even going to brag about it on the internet.
Talking with a friend today about this posting we submitted the following:
From a cold start, you fire 5 rounds (your favorite handgun) in a 1.5 in group at 50 yds unsupported ?? Never seen that in 30 yrs of shooting...
1.5 in at 50 yds unsupported ?? Jesus !! My Wilson CQB does that from a supported position. Had to go with the custom (& expensive) route to get that kind of accuracy !!
I'd pay my ticket to see someone do that ''1.5 in at 50 yds unsupported'' with a modern service type auto...as I dont believe a G17 (a popular choice in stock configuration) is capable of such accuracy with factory ammo...

The hand size at is a good standard.... start in close and when you can keep them all in a hand or fist size group take it out a little further and start the process again.
Off hand shooting with iron sights I find shooting rifles at 100yards to be pretty close to shooting handguns at 25 yards or so.
