its a snider enfield converted muzzleloader. chambered in .577 snider.

not sure on value, would rather wait for an expert than throw out a number.

Cheers,Mclean

The gun is a Snider Enfield 3 band. The bayonet and scabbard are a plus. In mint condition the gun would have a blued barrel and case colours on the lock plate. I would lean more towards it being in good condition.
Price estimates are going to vary considerably with location and individual but you might want to check the EE for prices of comparable guns; they are listed fairly frequently. The ones that don't sell after several BTT you might assume are at the very top of their price range

'Mint' means unfired, as it came out of the factory.
Epp's is listing a Snider-Enfield Mk II*, in VG condition, with no bayonet at $949.00

Epps is overpriced a fair bit as well. Look at the asking prices for 86 Winchesters, grey guns with not a bit of finish left for $2500? I've seen quite a few Sniders on the EE in like condition for $600-$700.

From what I run into it would be around $500 - $600.

I agree. That's with the bayonet and sling. Nice looking Snider.

They were more but there have been a glut of Sniders coming on the market lately. The people who appreciated Sniders appear to be a dying breed...the younger generation don't seem to have a burning desire to own them or pay premium prices for them. Every gun show I've been to has multiple Sniders for sale, as low as $350 for a fair one.

I shoot mine at BP matches at the club btw. With factory sights they shoot high...aim for the belt buckle to hit the enemy in the chest or similar I think the Brits had it. For point of aim hits, people tend to either extend the front sight or fab a new, lower rear sight. (which is what a friend did for me- no alterations to the rifle at all)

Does yours have DC in a diamond stamped into the stock on the left most likely? Dominion of Canada.

:D well thats good news for me :D I'm starting to collect a few older rifles starting with Martini Henrys and I'm thinking that if the prices keep falling I'll have to look for a Snider Enfield. I just checked out the EE and the prices are a lot lower then I remember
