Man, you guys are hurtin' there in Ont.! 13+ years waiting for a tag for a bull moose? UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! Even with our draw system here in Alberta, there are zones where we can get bull tags EVERY year. Now, I will admit, some of these zones are tough to access (swamp, swamp, and more swamp), but they are are not un-huntable. I'm not bragging, or gloating, it's just hard to understand. I grew up in Thunder Bay, and left when I joined the Cdn Forces in 1978. Times change, I guess. Anyway, the best of luck to all those who are heading into the woods this fall. Hunt hard, hunt safe, and have fun!!!

Ontario has a population of 13 million (almost half of Canada) and a moose population of maybe about 100 000 IIRC. Annual issued adult tags are about 15 000 off the top of my head. You do the math.
Also, if you want an adult tag, you can get one, but not everyone wants to travel long distance to do it. And EVERYONE can get a calf tag, almost anywhere.
I got a bull in 03.
It is kind of excruciating though, I don't really have a gun for it. My 6.5 swede seemed fine for calves, but all of a sudden I feel a little undergunned.
The wife has authorized a purchase at my discretion and I have spent all night looking at everything from Savage to Sako. I told myself that it would be a CZ in 300WM if I got a bull, but the tag showed up and a Sako A7 in .30-06 is whispering my name all of a sudden.
I should have bought the gun before the fever kicked in....
