Weatherby Fan's

Just picked this one up 460 deluxe made in Japan topped with a 3-9x40 Weatherby premier scope with pendleton brake

Very nice. Mine also has the pendleton. The wood is much lighter than yours though. Have you done any load development yet? Would be interested in how she shoots with various bullets.

My Weatherby is a Remington CDL in 257 Weatherby Mag with a Wilcat Stock.
That's probably as close to a Weatherby as i'll come.

How much does the rifle weigh without the scope? It looks good!

Didnt weigh it bare but 7.4 lbs with the leupold 4.5-14 and talley LW's - based on my not so accurate digital bathroom scale
Not too heavy considering it has a 26" barrel.

Sorry, that one went over my head as I didn't see the post where Stubblejumper claimed to be a PH.

Gatehouse - you better get this thread locked because at this rate it will surpass the "New King" thread. That of course will lead to only one conclusion: that Weatherby is the New King.

It would be a sad day for all. Almost all.

Need another 1000 posts before it gets close to the NEW KING thread for posts..ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!!!:)

If a guy has never hunted and killed big game, then I dont' give a crap about his opinion on rifles used for hunting. Shooting hunting rifles at the range and hunting with rifles are 2 related- but completely different- subjects.

I dont' care if a guy has shot 200 rifles at the range, if he has never packed a rifle up a mountain, fought for breath while trying to steady crosshairs on an animal, felt the adrenaline of bearing down on a big buck, been a few feet from an animal he was trying to kill, grunted his way up some rocky cliff using his rifle as a trekking pole, cleaned the crap and moisture off his gun in a tiny tent at treeline, sat in a tree stand or ground blind or road hunted or still hunted through some dense forest.....then his opinion on hunting rifles means eff all to me.

How about the trek through Indian contry in the wee hours of the morning with your unloaded and useless cased Rifle, to get into your tree stand or blind, long before legal shooting light.
The small 2 cell mandatory light, barely showing your path, while all around creatures that rule the night, watch your little lighted world move through the vastness of their darkness. OOOh..... so spooky, and for you Gatehouse, in the West with Big Foot possibly near by, it would put some strain on my nerves, yet the rush would be most satisfying.
After the coyote rampage in our area, with many attacks and even a death, plus my hunting partner spotting the supposedly non-existant eastern cougar in our area, I find it a little harder to fall asleep in my ground blind these days,....... but I always do LOL.

I feel sorry for you guys that can't carry a loaded or uncased rifle unless it's "shooting light"
It's a completely pointless rule, with no benefit.

Some of my best naps have been on stand for yotes or while glassing. :)

Oh no I am here to post again. It must be because I have no interest in the thread or topic but only to attack one individual.

Or

I am all jacked up on Weatherby's and could really care less about one flea on the whole dog.

Anyone have any pics of the OLD 1940-50's era Weatherby's built on FN actions? Some of those are worth looking at.

Yes, but it might be two fleas :p

Sorry, I just have a 1950's era Brno 602. But I will not tarnish a Weatherby thread with it :p

Some built on the BIG Schultz & Larsen actions would also be neat to see.

If there was absolutely no intent to attack someone or to throw out a cheap shot, with your post, you wouldn't have mentioned it at all.
