The wait is painful (UPDATE page 4)

The reality is that vendors have absolutely no control over delivery times, yet they are the ones to take it on the chin when things take too long. We have had customers stuck waiting for a YEAR to get barrels that were estimated at 16 weeks. Fortunately, this is not the rule.

Canada is a drop-in-the-bucket market, and even distributors are not given straight-goods info on delivery times. If you think I enjoy hearing from people who are pissed off about the delivery time of their order, you would be sadly mistaken. I have wanted to throw in the towel more than once.

I hate waiting as much or more than anyone else, but cut your vendor some slack. I guarantee it is not their fault, nor their conspired intent to delay delivery.
I know you are not pointing fingers but I just want you to know that I am not pissed at my vendor at all...on the contrary...they have been aces! They have kept me in the loop every step of the way.

I waited for 4 months for a SIG P226r TACOPS last year cause when I ordered it I was too late to get the Blackwater edition but they hadn't started making the new version until all the pre ordered BW pistols where finished. Then I waited for 5 months for my AR15.... It really sucks waiting, but it is soo worth it the day it arrives at your door. It felt like christmas morning when I was a kid again.

We have a customer who called looking for a spare Benelli R1 magazine so we contacted our rep with Stoeger to see about the availability and price... We where told there would be none this year coming in. We passed that onto the customer and he proceeded to use foul language and ask why the hell we would run a shop if we can't get parts for the products we sell. He was incredibly rude yet for some reason we still decided to be kind and we removed the magazine from one of our guns and gave it to the customer, now we have a gun we can't sell till we are able to replace the magazine.

In prep for the exciting day I even loaded up a variety of different loads to try out. Now every time I walk passed my reloading bench they mock me..."HA HA HA HAAAAA HA you can't shoot me cause you don't have your gun yet!!!" Does this happen to any one else???

Yes it sucks. I waited till I could afford my McGowen barrel (2 yrs). Then I waited for it to be shipped(2 1/2 months). Then I waited to let the barrel nut soak (3 days). Now I wait for The Master of Fire to replace my roasted rifle action ( 1 month and counting). I'm being mocked by sized and primed cases, an assortment o f heavy SMK's and A-Max bullets, and a pound of Retumbo and IMR 7828. Yes I feel your pain!

Oh man. Thats a shame. I sincerely hope you get your rifle together soon.

Hey man I feel your pain.

I ordered my Savage 12 VLP DBM from Ellwoods but got the special 1:7" twist; it took 16 weeks but eventually, I was in heaven! They are absolute ### machines (they are good looking rifles)

Wow!!! My pain is eased by the knowledge that there are those of you out there who have waited longer than me!!! I kid!! I am itching to get it and get out to the range but but I am waiting patiently.
The dealer was the one that talked me into ordering when I did. I haden't saved all the money up but gave him a heads up that it was my intent to order when I did have enough.
He told me," Order now, Savage is backed up right now so it'll be a bit of a wait." I said I wasn't comfortable ordering it until I had the cash because I didn't wanna be scrambling to get the cash when it shows up.
He said," Don't worry about it . If it shows up before you are ready, It can sit in my safe till you come up with the cash!"
Like I said before these guys have been just Aces to me!!

I don't have a problem waiting as long as the retailer or supplier treats me as yours has. I have had berger hybrids on backorder thru Jerry since last october, if I didn't trust the man I would not place a backorder, but he has always been good and is a supporting dealer, so its not an issue to me. Customer service and communication goes a long way when you have to wait months or years for things.

It's sad to see some blow up at the distributor. I use to spend more time stateside than here. It's too bad people who get crazy couldn't spend some time down there and see that demand has been so high for the last 3-4 years that items down there are in short supply also. As Ian said we are a drop in the bucket and so far from being on their radar I'm sometimes suprised that we can get anything. It's even worse than that! I've been in shops where they get downright hostile when they find out I'm one of those Commies from the north. It got to the point I'd tell them I was from Florida :)D no standard accent and we have a Fl address and phone #) and hoped I didn't say eh or about.

Note my barrel delivery time was quite short. I differed to Jerry and ordered the barrel he figured he could get quickest. If your not wedded to a brand then I'm sure you can get something that works for you in a reasonable time.

:( I could go to the range. I've got about 150 .223 reloads ready to go for my LRVP and my 7615. I have no money for gas though. :(

:D Hey hitch.bd good to see another RCR (I'm ex that is) :D

How far do you need to go to get to the range? Being a retired mud elephant you should be able to do the airborne shuffle no problems!!...unless your knees are as shot as mine from doing the airborne shuffle in the old style black cadillacs!!

:D Over an hour. The club I use to go to charges way too much. The current one is cheaper and is 400 yds long. The only drawback is the drive.

My knee is messed up. It still works but no serious running for me any more.

I hate waiting for stuff ive already paid for. it really sucks. im waiting on a new stock for a project now.

It should be any day now!!! They said Savage was going to ship it the end of August so it should be here early to mid September!!!! I can hardly wait!! :)

My latest custom took over 3 years to assemble the bits and finally get 'er done. But I wasn't really in any hurry. The wait was definitely worth it!

WOOOHOOOO!!!! It 's finally here!!! The wife and I will be going to the range this morning to shoot it! It looks great and feels very smooth. Range report to follow, but I am not expecting great groupings yet as I don't yet have a bipod or more likely "the rock" shooting rest. I mostly just want to make some noise and poke some holes in some paper. The "break-in" method that everyone differs in opinion about still has me unsure. So I will give it a pull thru after each shot today then on to normal shooting next trip. I will bring the camera today so if I ever figure how to post pics I will have some to post. (truth told I haven't tried too hard to figure it out yet)
