Opinions: ACE stock on 858 Carbine?

Boomer,
Do you have the AKFX or ARFX enroute? The AKFX is the one that bolts to the stock folding mechanism like you see in the pics in this thread.
Regarding Ar type stock adapters -They accept both mil-spec and commercial tubes, just like an AR receiver, you can use either as the threads are cut the same on the internal threads.

Roger that..... I have the ARFX stock coming. Seems as though getting the AKFX is a daunting task.

I had planned on attaching the buffer tube to the adapter and in turn bolt the adapter to the folding mechanism. Would that not work?

I think I may need to actually examine how the OEM stock actually attaches as I have yet to remove it. Perhaps there is something I missed in the design or how the Stormwerkz parts bolt up.

Regards,

The AKFX stock bolts right to the folding mechanism with two 10-32 machine screws, the ARFX stock is designed to fit an Ar receiver profile.
If you already have the ARFX stock coming you would need an AR type folding mech like this:

Kudos to Josh at Stormwerkz

I was a little p*ssed for not doing enough research prior to placing my order for the parts required to install an ACE stock on my CZ. Just when I realized I ordered the wrong parts and would have to place another order ... the gods smiled upon me.

When I placed my order with Josh at Stormwerks I was smart enough to list the Ace stock I was planning on installing. The items I had ordered would not have worked with the particular ACE stock I have. Josh noticed this, intercepted my order, made the necessary changes and notified me of it. He could have easily let it slide and profit from a second order for the correct parts but instead....

Now that's customer service. Thanks, Josh!

Regards,

Try fabsports.com in Montreal. I've been told they sell ACE products.

GoDaddy.com, the hosting company, has the following notice for the domain Fabsports.com:

"NOTICE: This Domain Name Expired on 08/09/2011 and is pending Renewal or Deletion"

Change the suffix to .ca and a site for Fabsports comes up; however, they don't have the Ace stocks listed, except for the M4/AR-15 collapsible style.

Thanks Flying Beaver, I had tried the .com and received the same response. Two bad they don't have the skeleton stock though. Might be tough to get one now.

I've ordered a ton of stuff from cactus tactical down in the US - they ship here, and they carry some Ace stocks... :)

Edited to add - just looked, only ARFX :(

Wish I had order my ACE skeleton stock last year when I was modding my 858. I think skeleton stocks are on the banned list now. Not exportable from the USA, like flash hiders.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Gotta love that State Department list - I think Wendy must be one of their consultants.

What material is the rear end of the ACE stock made from ? Some kind of polymer, or aluminum? I believe the top limb is Delrin.

Response from ACE:

Dear Sardaukar,

Thank you for your interest in Ace Limited products. We are unable to ship anything outside of the United States. Due to this fact we do not have any distributors in Canada.

Thank You,
