Hey guys,

Ive been looking for a German K98 for a while now with little to no success. Where have they all gone? Fairly run-of-the-mill RCs even seem to have dried up from the EE. Any ideas?

They are now in private collections and growing in value by the day, no more left on the surplus market.

I thought Russia signed on to that U.N. agreement to meltdown milsurps. Most Mosin Nagents are now coming out of the Ukraine. Hopefully they will have some mausers.

In the early 80 at a store call Checkmate ( place were lepine bought is mini -14 ) i bought a couple of K-98 Mauser 8X57 laminated stock unrefurbish in mint condition for 70.00 a piece, i am sure they are worth 10 time that today... JP.

Quite possible!

"Russia is still siting on quite a few. Problem is they want too much for them. "

Russia has been melting down all surplus weapons at a furious pace for a while now, nothing is coming out of there (Exporting military weapons for civilian sales, even bayonets is illegal under Russia law anyway). Ukraine Arsenals have sold off all K-98 rifles is usable condition also.

Wait, then where are all these Mosins, SVTs, and SKS coming from? Ex-satellite states?
