I'm going to use a new (for me) "old" Remington 740 Woodsmaster in 30-06 iron sights. Last year all the deer I saw were on the run. So this year I decided I needed some lead slinging capability. Bought it from Tec-Trade in Montreal. Took it out to the range today and at 50 yards out of 15 shots 5 were in the bullseye. Good enough for the tight bush. May also take my Cooey model 710 bolt action carbine in .270. Hadn't fired it in over 30 years and man did it shoot dead on...at least at 50 yds. I may also take my model 94 in 30-30. Took off the scope and it shoots high. Still haven't decided on that one.
