CZ 550 Anyone here own/shoot one?

yes, accuracy in all 3 of mine is excellent. I've never owned a tikka but they (cz's) shoot just as good or better than any of the sako's Ive owned (2) probably because of the set trigger as I find it makes a difference in my shooting off the bench.

My 550 Lux shoots very well, for having not worked on loads extensively yet. The set trigger is very nice off the bench. Bit too pretty to drag it through the muck yet... soon, but not yet.

I love mine in 9.3 x 62. The only complaint I have is the safety. I find it's noisy. If they made this rifle with a swing safety like the model 70 or a model 70 with a single set trigger (and 9.3 x 62), that would be perfect.

Been thinking of buying a 550 American for a couple years now. I tried one last year and really like it, but I now have some concerns with warranty. There is recent thread here somewhere where guys are having problems with warranty in Canada.

I had a lux , i would go with an american if i got another . i found the lower comb and high rings cumbersome i was alway's lifting my head off the stalk to look through the scope. Loved the single set trigger , but set normally was very heavy and creepy but my smith fixed that .

i have a cz550 full stock in 308 and love it as well as 2 cvz452 rimfires deadly acurate rifles. i also own a tikka t3 hunter in 6.5 swede love it too acurate as hell. i think the cz makes better choices for magnum or long action calibers, i perfer the tikka for 308,223,243 etc

I am an ex South African outfitter/Professional hunter, and carried nothing but cz as backup guns. Had a cz 602, that i changed to a .458 3"/Express and then had a 475 A&M Magnum built on a 416 Rigby CZ550, that i bought for just that reason. Best gun you will ever own.

I put Talley low rings and bases on mine, gets the optics down to a much more comfortable position. I agree with you in regards to the stock cz rings for sure. I would probably try an American as well, just to compare.

CZ builds good riggin. I have three of them a 452 standard 22 lr a 455 lux 22 magnum and a 550 lux in 9.3x62 they all shoot real nice, never jam or fail to load. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the plastic floor-plate and magazine follower on my 550. I really do prefer an all metal bottom. I've noticed at the cz USA website that those parts are for sale over there however they will not ship in to Canada.
