Airsoft accessories

LOL, to defend airsofters lots of people have never seen an airsoft game and it's "people". You have the skinny guys, the fat guys, and the MASSIVE amount of tactical equipment that would put any SO team to shame.

Youtube it, it's pretty sad to watch. It's mall ninjaland.

Yea it realize that the actual Magpul CTR stock is near indestructable, however, I'm not running my gun the same way those guys are, nor am I taking it oversees. It's just a target sport shooting gun, so I don't really have any issues keeping it.

I've never been overseas yet had to "mortar" my one AR 3 times this year on the range for failure to extracts, since using cheap ammo. Gone through about 3500 rds so far.

I use a real CTR stock, never had an issue.

Even if someone only gets out to the range even twice a month, why use a lesser quality product?

And quite conveniently OST now carries magpul ;) I have my money on the fact that 100% of CAR style stocks are produced in china. The ones I have function quite well.

Not sure I get how you arrive at that conclusion.

My understanding is that in Airsoft the other guy shoots back. So you have to be able to shoot, move and think better than your opponent.

With "real steel" ranges are strictly one way (for civilians like me....and frankly thank god that is the case). The opponent is a paper target or game animal that can't shoot back.

Based on that one game does seem more manly than the next.....

Just you tube "airsoft" dude. That is precisely how I cam to the conclusion.
I thank god that ranges are only one way as well, otherwise We would all need body armour.:D

... Are we talking about the range fuds? Half our membership here? Or Airsofters :p

@Farmboy. Not everybody can afford top of the line gear. I understand what you were getting at, but I think decent 'middle ground' gear will last majority of membership here most of their lives. But if you got the cash why not.

I've seen some airsoft stuff made better then the 'real' stuff.

I've played airsoft for a long time, and the appeal is the 'think on your feet, while your targets are shooting back'

As soon as the government allows me to use blanks/laser guns/simunition, then that's as close as it gets for me.

Only a rich man can afford cheap stuff ;)

I own both airsoft and real guns does that makes me a man boy? :)

Obviously I would suggest airsoft accessories only to airsoft. Beside don't you want to support the real manufacture instead of counterfeit?

If you want to buy airsoft stuff to stick on to your rifle, go ahead. I know I'll buy the real stuff, mainly because I like to know my rifle and all the stuff I've attached to it are going to work as intended.

And FYI I have nothing against people who like airsoft, and I'll probably try it some day.

Like someone already mentioned, the airsoft/paintballers/video gamers (for the most part these are kids) are going to grow up and when they do there is a good chance they might go get their PALs and join the "Real Steel" club.

For some kids airsoft/paintball is the best they can do until they are of age and/or move out of disapproving parents house.

And yes, Airsoft accessories belong on Airsoft guns.

I like guns. And I did play wargame when I was young. It is really fun since you can shoot at your "enemy".
Beside for those Prohib like MP5 or AK74 or even some LMG, I will still buy them just because I like them.
I just visited a newly open Airsoft gun shop in Toronto last week. Nowadays all those airsoft is made of complete metal provided that the muzzle velocity is above 420fps. They made this specifically for the Canadian market. The guy let my son and I handled almost everything. Most of them are pretty well made and solid. No clear plastic receiver. Not sure if I am allowed to post their link. But this shops stocks the most airsoft I have ever seen. And you can shoot in your basement with Full Auto.

The problem with the airsoft stuff on the real guns is that inevitably it will wind up in the EE being passed off as legit, either knowingly or not. I have had to turn back a few deals when the parts showed up and were not the authentic items. For this reason alone, I loathe airsoft.

I don't mind people having their own hobbies and immersing themselves into their tactical fantasies, but when I come to a REAL firearm forum, I expect REAL firearms and parts. If I wanted anything to do with airsoft, I would join the appropriate website.

My Airsoft/PTS whatever CTR stock that I ordered back on page 1/2 arrived.

Thumbs down. Doesn't stay locked into place properly. If I give it a big slam (like I was smashing a zombie in the head with it), it wobbles. Fit isn't nearly as good as my "real" stocks (magpul/CAA or otherwise), though the finish is good enough.

It may be that I got a defective one. It was $30 and the company is sending me a refund. I'll swap it for another and see if its any better.

I don't know. I can see how it would be fun. It's sort of like being in a video game. For sure as close to combat as I would ever want.

I'm probably not going to get involved but I ain't gonna slag those that do.

I would tend to say it is far from being close to emulating combat. Very far actually.:)
To each his own I suppose.

OK Dirt , Whats up with the rap yap and your avatar ????...why dont you speak english ??
Are you trying to be funny....notice I said trying.

I thought it would be nice to have an aimpoint 3x with twist mount so I picked up an airsoft clone for $75. It had poor optics but I really liked the way it worked for me. I now have a real steel one and sold off the clone. I think the airsoft stuff is a great cheap alternative to spending big bucks on items you may find do not work for you.

This is exactly what I did

My crappy little airsoft pistol is stored in the place as my squirt gun and Nerf gun. because it's all toys. Airsoft doesn't belong in the same category as firearms. To each their own, but stop trying to argue to me how cool your airsoft guns are.
