trigger pull Savage 93R17

Is it an accutrigger model?

You can also try this ... borrowed from Rimfire Central

After a few requests, here are the Savage trigger shim details.

Remember when dealing with triggers.....

Make sure the weapon is unloaded
Always check for safety
Be Very Careful
Check for safety again! :)

I though they where all accutrigger. I know mine is the most basic except for the heavy barrel and it has accutrigger.

Can the trigger pull be adjusted on a savage model 93R17?
If so how?

Thanks, Shane

Shane, if you refer to your manual it tells you how to adjust the trigger....if you don't have or lost your manual there is a lot of info if you google savage trigger adjustment, check it out...even the non- accutrigger can be adjusted very easily.

No it isn't an accutrigger.....

Thanks, Shane

according to the savage site all 93r17 currently produced have the accu-trigger

Well, the world existed pre-accutrigger. I have an older Mk.II without the accutrigger.

OP, I tuned it using the shims as shown above and changed the return spring for a lighter one out of a pen. Huge improvement, but still not perfect. I am thinking of a Rifle Basix trigger to see what that will be like and if it gets me where I want to be.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that using those triggers will make your rifle into a strictly target only rifle. It seems because of how light it can go, knocking the rifle and make it go off.

I'll see if I can find that post ... but I could be wrong.

I shimmed mine as well, and the trigger now breaks a lot nicer than it did before, but I never tried the spring mod at all ... I may have too just to see how it performs after. I still want to be able to take mine out hunting with me and not worry about having it go off slamming the bolt into battery ... lol :p

I would appreciate that post if you can find it. This rifle is pretty much a range only machine, so a light trigger is OK for me. If I could get a crisp 1-1.5lb that would be perfect for my uses.
