Robarms XCR FAQ post

Installing MIAD Grip

So I went to install my new MIAD grip on the XCR, only to realize that I don't have a friggin' allen key long enough  As I was unable to reach the bolt/screw I do not know the size which I have to get in a longer setup; can somebody tell me what size it is?

Also, when istalling the MIAD, (for anyone who's done it), do you use the factory grip bolt/screw or do you use the one which comes with the MIAD?

Thanks for any help.

I've got your answer my friend...

I've installed on my XCR a Tangodown Battlegrip:

To install it, I've bought a not very expensive box (around 20$) at Canadian Tire, which contains 55 hex keys of different lenghts! Perfect for gun jobs... ;)

The Hex Key you want is a 5/32" hex key and it's about 4½ inches long.

It will be perfect for your job...

And i've used the existing screw of my XCR with the star O-Ring from Tangodown...

Outstanding! Thanks for the answers as well as the pics :) Much appreciated!

and make them jealous with your spectre os4.

How have you found it on your XCR now that some time has passed Z?

Ah-Ah!:p

The scope is awesome... Nice quality of optics and eye-relief. Perfect on sunny or rainy days. Haven't tried in winter (snow) yet but I'm sure it will be perfect. No fogging or fuzziness. Mountings stay tight.

Definetely the best optic I've ever bought...

Hey yah, I put the same scope on my XCR a few months ago too. LOVE it! Couldn't be happier with it.

Anyone have trouble with 5/30 rnd pmags mine dont lock at all in magwell its almost like the magwell is too wide and is the flash hider right or left hand thread?
Thnx !!
My pmags (windowless) fit perfect, bought from Blaxsun member. They just dont seem to hold the bolt open on the last shot is all I noticed.
Th thread I believe is righty tighty lefty loosie.

JAGDMORDER:

With regards to the bolt not holding open, this was happening on mine as well. I was kind of fed up with this, so I contacted Wolverine Supplies, and ordered a new one from there. The new one is blatantly longer, which allows better contact with the magazine. While with the old bolt hold open I could not get ONE of my mags to work, the new one works with: PMAGS (from Alberta Tactical Rifle & Questar), C-Products 5/30rnders, LAR-15 Mags (original batch), and my 7.62X39 mags, some Cproducts 5/10 rnders, and some 5/30 rnders as well.

Might want to consider it on your's. Was charged $20 for the replacement piece, probably a bit steep, but meh.

What's bad, is that the the bolt hold open shaft/tab is a small thin piece of steel roll pin which will bend or loosen over time and use.

This gun has a good overall concept but the execution is a bit lacking.

This is a brand new Bolt Hold with no wear on it:

With time, the tab is starting to wear out and make an oval shape, which is giving these kind of problems of not holding the bolt open or being too sensitive to any shocks which will close it automaticly.

Here's an example of what it gives with time:

Doubling or slam fire?

After fully stripping and cleaning/ lubing with a little G96, my xcr 223 double fired on the first rnd while shooting a Coyote. I was using rem umc 45 grn hollow points, the rifle fired the first 245 without issue-other than the primers cratered slightly. I imediately removed and inspected the bolt and trigger everything looked fine, Clean and lightly oiled. Firing pin felt normal. Couldn't find the brass. Loaded it back up and fire around around 100 cheap federals I had laying around, no prob.
What caused this? Anyone else have similar Issue? Gas was set on 1, as it has been for the last 500rnds.
The Coyote was DRT. Never double tapped him though 2nd rnd went high to the left.

Could it be caused by your finger?

With the M14, sometimes if my shooting hand is very relaxed, the recoil will allow the trigger to reset as the rifle goes back and then as the rifle rebounce forward, the trigger push on my finger, causing a double-fire.

Thanks for the info, I will order one soon just in case. It looks like it has wear.

I have a quick question for those using the Dlask stock adapter; I'm about to install mine on my XCR and was wondering if there are any snags/problems anyone has noticed? Special tools? Obviously there is no need for the buffer and spring, but are there any other pieces I will need other than the adapter, tube and tube nut?

Thanks in advance...
