Wonder if my Tavor will group as good as my MR-1...

My best luck has been with the 63 grain stuff... RUAG GP90 has worked incredibly well, but it runs about $850.00 per 1000 rnds. You can pick it up from TSE in Calgary.

That hasn't been my experience with the RUAG 63 grain ammo. Even my 1:10 twist Swiss arms didn't like it. I bought 1000 rounds of the stuff about 4 years ago. I use it to get on paper for sight in so I don't waste my good stuff. Also the brass isn't reliadable without adjusting the primer pocket.

I always through in some tests when shooting a new rifle in the hopes something will shoot the Ruag ammo. So far no Luck with my current rifles.

I'm surprised, both the Tavor's and the MR223 do very well with the RUAG for me. I consistently get 1.5 MOA @ 100 with the RUAG and the Tavor's, and a little better with the H&K. I'll try your previous suggestions on ammo and see if I can produce better results.

Ok Epoxy7.. I just ordered 300 rnds of the federal gold 69 grain, and I hope your right!!! For what it costs, it should be good...

Time to start reloading..

It's good. If it doesn't work for a particular rifle chances are it will for another. It's the standard accuracy load.

.

I also have some 55 grain PMC 5.56mm which is the same as the Bronze except in 5.56 instead of 223. It will be interesting to see how the Tavor shoots this stuff.

Some SMK and 70+ grain match ammo needs to be tried too :D. Especially with the longer 18.5" barrel of the Tavor. Time to see what these rifles can really do.

Caramal, looking forward reading some threads when you get your Tavor and reload for it. :D

remember the Tavor has a 1/7 twist barrel 55 grain will not perform that well especially at long range . you want to shoot 62 grain or heavier .. i get the best groups with 69 gr SMKs and 25 grains of H varget powder.. The Tavor is not a precision rifle but is accurate enough for a military rifle, if you want varmint rifle type accuracy go with a Swiss Arms or a AR-15.

According to testing by USMC back in the 80's during the development of M16A2, 55gr M193 is slightly more accurate than the 62gr SS109 used in testing within 300m.
