alright, Finally received my Sub 2000 carbine. Well i must say compare to su-16 and RFB, sub is lower quality.. few things that surprised me are these.. the pistol grip is so weak and rough, and the front of the grip opens up with a smallest effort, plus what the hell those round cutouts are on the very bottom of the grip..? also the tip of the trigger was so sharp, i managed to cut my finger while dry fire..

another thing, i'd say the most embarrassing for kel-tec.. : in the top/back of the handguard there is a cut out for a rear sight to go into while folded, so on my gun this cutout was about an 1/8" too short and the sight would not fit in, but would press against the handguard, deforming it.. now i have the whole area around that hole dented in..
Also i noticed something wiered, and i dont know if thats normal..
if the mag is empty or no mag at all, the bolt will not go into locked position unless the trigger is pressed... is that normal..? is that a kel-tec's "open on a last round " thing..? this really bugs me, so please let me know.
Ok enough of bad news... lets get back to what this thread is all about..
i managed to get my hands on a Red Lion Forend (with 4 rails $260 )..

For those that dont know, Red lion forend rotates in 90* sections, so the optic never has to be dismounted.. or you could use two different optics ,it takes 5 seconds to switch the position ..
so i had to dismount the front sight, and then the rear sight, installed RL rotating forend, with burris FF on top and AFG on the bottom.. Now i'm thinking of creating something that will cover the "ugliness" of the barrel (it is not really pretty under the front sight.) perhaps a long muzzle brake or a fake can.
Few important things to know... Red Lion does not ship to Canada, even if your order goes through, they will refund your money via pay-pal in a couple of days...
Also the front sight is easily removable, but it is one time use... you have to cut or melt it to take it off.
Ok so here as what i have so far, keep in mind muzzle end and stock modifications are still to come..
and i could not resist sticking a fake can on it just to see how it would look.
