Kel Tec SU16F review

check this out.. :) while the kel-tec barrel threading issue is getting sorted out .. i thought of a temporary solution.. :) drilled out one of the spare brakes that i had to size of the barrel, drilled/tap two holes on the bottom of the brake for small set screws to hold it on the barrel.. looks alright, although totally non functional because barrel takes up most of the room inside the brake..

Did the same thing yesterday but only took out the threads. Did it on the lathe to keep the bore and the hole in the fh aligned. Still plenty of barrel for the set screws to grab and it keeps the fh functional too. Just have that little ring on the barrel that looks a tad out of place.

Quick question guys. My brother just bought one of these SU16 's and he mounted a 4-12 leupold scope 1" tube. He said he can't get the scope low enouph to the barrel to get on paper. The gun store said the only thing he can do is either put a shim under the rear ring or get a 30mm tube to allow more ajustment. Is this true? Is anyone else having isues with a 1" tube?
Thanks
Weaver low rings work great ;)

Mine is in the works...

AR stock and forend.

Man this thing i light.

THANKS PJ

Edit: All setup. The cheekweld with these irons are awful, hurts my face craning it down there. Gonna look into a light, short optic.

I agree.
So I ditched the stock one's and baught the new ARMS 1's with an EoTech on a QD to go with my pistol stock. As I use my optic for the rifle stock config.

So for those of you with the Keltec railed fore-end, you see that slot under the gas block thats suddenly available?

You guys have any idea's as to a sling mount that would work in this slot? It seems perfect for something, just can't put my finger on what exactly. The slots a bit wider than typical sling mounts though...hmmmmm

Almost wondering if a large key ring type connector would work?

Hmmm...
Sounds better than KelTec's idea of a sling mounting plate and this 1;

Ok here's some more su16 ####.

Sling is using what I had laying around, still not sure where to mount on the front, using a rail sling mount for now. It works this way, but not entirely comfortable for my foregrip...not too bad though.

The vortex sparc with 2x magnifier fits perfectly on the rail and is nice and light, good match, and yes the stupid covers snapped when i tried to put it on with the magnifier attached.

You know it DOES still sorta fold with the ar kit if thats whats stopping people.....sort of a V shape. It could still stuff into a backpack folded up with the ar stock. Folds alot more than I thought it would actually.

I'll see about getting pics of that.

Who carries the accessories in Canada right now? I got mine from Wanstalls and they said they don't have the butstock or forend right now. Does the forend need to be removed to clean? Is the fit nice and tight? Thanks...

I must have picked up one of the last sets from wanstalls then, I was there...yesterday, or the day before...don't remember.

Its pretty snug, and no, you don't have to remove it to clean.

K, here is a pic of the thing with ar stock folded. Dimensionally it is still only about 16" long and 12-13" wide. The regular stock folded will save you a few inches widthwise thats about it.
