Double or Nothin'... All In! Waterloo & Alliston IPSC Match Video for Sept 17th, 2011

It was a long day but a FUN one. Big Thank You to both clubs for hosting matches that were both fun and challenging. Thanks to all the RO's, RM, MD and everyone else for making it possible.

Alliston match was good too. Especially maze stage. I was ROing and I run some shooters with 3min for 32 rounds stage :))

Stage 4 was good. We know there was or will be some criticism on that COF. A nice run an' gun experience. Now waiting for my results for that stage. Didn't stick around when they counted my score at the time, just heard my time. Hehe... Nearly tossed my cookies after that stage cp:

Not exactly a test of shooting ability is it ...

I see it differently. Run hard... Leg muscles are burning... Hard breathing... Heart pounding out of your chest and still trying to maintain a stead clear front sight......

Definitely a step up from the usual side to side and a few steps forward and then back COF. The only time my heart rate increases is from nerves and not physical demand. kudos to Alliston for stepping up.

So, what was up with that stage? You weren't allowed to look at it before shooting or what?

BTW, you need to fix your jams. can't see it on the video what was the problem, but check your magazine lips and make sure your load is near solid 135PF.

Stage required: flexing your memory, physical fitness, ability to shoot targets with burning legs, paying attention for safety.
It was a level III stage for sure.
I had apparently second fastest time overall 88sec, first fastest was open gun with 87sec and it was a guy who designed the course of fire.
Those stages are common in Europe.

OMG!!! Eugene... I got some serious spanking on FTFire and Feed this time around.

One was a bad primer - Winchester. The rest were FTFeed/ go into full battery.

In the past I've been using BDX 124gr, 4.1gr N320, Fed Primers, OAL 1.114", PF 130 @ 1057 fps with the chorny 10ft away. Never had any problems.

Waterloo and Alliston... ZERO 125gr, 4.0gr N320, some Win primers and some Feds, PF 132 @ 1054 fps, OAL of 1.085" (max OAL in my chamber is 1.109" touching the lands).

Someone mentioned increasing the OAL others say some Shadows don't like ZERO's. Maybe my Shadow wasn't lubed up as much as I normally do but it was clean.

There was a stage at the WS in Ecuador that had you going between two ranges joined by a tunnel...but there was no spot in that stage where you were taking anymore that 10 strides without seeing targets.

I like the idea of bringing new ideas to the table (and full marks to Alliston for doing so) but...I'm still surprised to see this stage at a sanctioned match.

Cut the running by 50%...it would have been fine.

There was 2 maybe 3 newbs in the Saturday 12noon squad that just got their blue card signed that day... they giggling like little school girls about how they really liked stage 4.

LOL!

BTW... Congrats to them on getting their blue card signed.

Glad they had fun...but that still not much of an endorsement...

I forced myself to watch the video again...and I going to hold firm. I like the idea of pushing the stage designs (other wise we'd just be shooting the same stuff over and over again)...but stages like this don't belong in sanctioned matches...

Just my opinion. That and $5.00 gets you a coffee at Starbucks...
