Double or Nothin'... All In! Waterloo & Alliston IPSC Match Video for Sept 17th, 2011

OMG!!! Eugene... I got some serious spanking on FTFire and Feed this time around.

One was a bad primer - Winchester. The rest were FTFeed/ go into full battery.

In the past I've been using BDX 124gr, 4.1gr N320, Fed Primers, OAL 1.114", PF 130 @ 1057 fps with the chorny 10ft away. Never had any problems.

Waterloo and Alliston... ZERO 125gr, 4.0gr N320, some Win primers and some Feds, PF 132 @ 1054 fps, OAL of 1.085" (max OAL in my chamber is 1.109" touching the lands).

Someone mentioned increasing the OAL others say some Shadows don't like ZERO's. Maybe my Shadow wasn't lubed up as much as I normally do but it was clean.

No idea what FTF is, but 130PF might be too low, though I haven't been using 124gr bullets, nor n320 for almost two years now and OAL is usually different for different bullets.

Watching on video is always different then in real life.
You bring a lot of experience to the table but we had guys who have been around longer then some shooter are alive and they didn't complain.
It was a stage, I personally would like to see more and more.

I think IPSC is more about shooting then anything else but it is a dynamic sport therefore best guys has to be fit in order to compete with top dogs.
One year I shot a match in Europe and there was a stage with at least 125-130m running and after start at 25th m we had to go prone get up move 5m and get prone again.
It was about 30 degrees and I felt sorry for a RO.
I still remember this stage.

Crap.............I really hate agreeing with Quigley. (makes me feel dirty) but that is certainly NOT an IPSC stage.

looks like a VERY fun stage (and yes I have been working on my cardio) but it is not an applicable IPSC stage.

One stage at EESA's Zombie match required runing over 200 m to complete and I RO'd Score kept for 42 competitors (ie over 16km that day). But it is important to note............it was NOT IPSC>

Storm,
why is not IPSC stage? and which IPSC rule forfeits this stage? Just out of curiosity

Thanks

1.1.6. Difficulty
IPSC matches present varied degrees of difficulty. No shooting challenge
or time limit may be appealed as being prohibitive. This does not apply to
non-shooting challenges, which should reasonably allow for differences in
competitor's height and physical build.

???? Difficulty???

So are you saying this stage is TOO physically demand?

Yes...

Shooting while running is a test of your IPSC abilities...

Just running...is not.

To save me having to watch the video again :D (and that's not a reflection on you...it would be painful to watch anyone shoot it)...how many seconds and how many strides did you take before you fired your first shot?

???? Difficulty???

So are you saying this stage is TOO physically demand?

No I am not............Peter is.

He indicated that some competitors were taking 3 and 4 minutes to shoot the course of fire due to the running involved. Ego it is too physically demanding.

IPSC is not a test of cardio ability.............it is a test of SHOOTING abilty albiet not as much as Bullseye. That said the Physical test portion should not totally dominate the stage so as to make it so lop sided as this stage appears to be.

As I said..............Looks like HOOT to shoot. Lots of fun. But then so was my 200m zombie match stage. It's just not IPSC

Oh also this one.

2.1.6. Obstacles
Natural or created obstacles in a course of fire should reasonably allow for
variations in competitors' height and physical build and should be
constructed to provide reasonable safety for all competitors, Match Officials
and spectators.

Personally I think inducing heart attacks is not safe............
