Is there a 30/06 milsurp rifle?

Check Tradeex (Banner up top). There were a couple Husky rifles in '06 IIRC. Nice product, good people.

Also check the Hunting EE & look for something that's been converted or bubbaed. Cause, yah, Nice original 30'06 milsurp will run you as much as a 700.

alright thanks, i was looking for a inexpensive 30/06 but these are just as much as a brand new 700

Don't kid yourself, the milsurps are much better built than a brand new 700. A bigger question is ammo, unless you reload any of the centerfires are around $1/round (or more) and the cost will quickly eclipse the cost of the rifle.

..on 30-06 mil surps.

I just "earned" a p-17(m-17) cutting and, splitting firewood....I listed it in/on the EE with a promise to test fire it before shipping.

...I shouldn't have. It chambered/closed easier/silkier than my "#### on open" mausers. Both test shots within an inch (free hand, from the back porch). I set-up the trade before the test firing and, a good thing too!

x2 on ANY milsurp being "built better" than a conventional, current offering.

Probably the best value in a nice US made 30/06 is in the M1917.

There are lots of really nice ones out there, most that were lend leased to us, and shoot really awesome!

Hollywood just couldn't tell us the truth that Sergeant York was using an M1917 when he won "The Medal" instead of an '03 Springfield as shown in the movie!

That said :yingyang: , commercial .30-06 is far less expensive than commercial .303....

That said :) , the actions on some of the bolt-action milsurp .30-06 can typically handle considerably powerful loads....:D

Buy a Stevens 200 in 30-06 for less money than a milsurp and have a brand new rifle, mount a scope on it, customize the stock, paint it and not worry about defacing a surplus rifle and its history.

My first 30-06 was a semi sporterized 03-A3 just as pictured below and I still have my NRA "remodeling" booklet

I don't have a 30-06 milsurp in my collection because of the $$$COST$$$

And there is nothing wrong with a Mosin or a Enfield substitute. ;)

That's a really neat way to store your rifles. Never saw it done that way before, but it makes a lot of sense.
