We have a .270 or less caliber restriction for small game here in Ontario, otherwise, I would use my .303 enfield on Coyotes.. I asked this a while back, but that topic seems to be gone.
I also do not own a scoped rifle, so I have zero knowledge on optics, and what's good or bad.
So..
I'm in the market for a .223 powered, scoped, fairly cheap all around rifle, pref. bolt action, hopefully made in North America.
I have a few choices, my budget will be around $500 for the rifle, the scope $200-250
Savage axis, the scoped model (if the scope sucks, let me know).
I've read the trigger pull sucks, but for $349, it doesn't seem horrible.
Remington 700, from $500-700, is it $200 better than the Savage?
Weatherby Vanguard?
$450-$600 Haven't read much on those.
