i kid, this was some offhand blasting at this filthy zombie bastard
as far as groups.. i dont generally shoot off bench, this is my service rifle, but taking aimed shoots from kneeling and prone i can generally manage about a 3-4" group with totally average ammo .. so they are not bad at all

I predict it will be a 2.5 MOA shooter, +/- 1MOA depending on ammo....
That's why I plan to shoot only handloads on it. Replacing the op rod and tightening up the gas system should already improve it allot.
Nice looking set up Fenix , Can I ask what type of rail and red dot are you using in the pic ?
Is that an ultimak rail ? It looks like my Bushnell TRS-25 I just got for another rifle ...do you get a full co-witness or a third ?
The arrival of our shortys is a big thing for alot of people up here .

Im using a TRS25 yes, good spotting, im also using the UTG rail as at the time of the build money was a bit of a constraint, and NZD$350 was a little more than i wished to splash on the rail alone..
so unfortunately 0% co-witness .. in future i will swap it out for an Ultimak.
i also have an ATI universal cheek riser screwed on, with a strap on cheek pad over the top
this is her before the rail and TRS went on, so you can see what i mean with the riser/cheek pad setup

I tried the Norc 7.62x51 in my Garand 2 days ago. Very good stuff, grouped nearly as good as my handloads. Burns a bit dirty, but not too bad. Best of all, it doesn't have that nasty cat piss soaked popcorn smell that their China Sport 7.62x39 ammo did.

it sure is. our stupid laws prohibit us from having flash hiders on a standard license.... muzzle brakes and suppressors are fine..
drilling it makes it a muzzle brake, slotting it makes it a flash hider apparently
