Xcr war

You pling, .223
You hunt, .308

I'm all for "plinging" :p

Just start with one caliber and buy the other when funds allow.
Now if you're talking about choosing between an XCR-L or XCR-M, I would go with the M.
These rifles are damn close to a "battle-rifle" for weight. 8lbs in .223
I think if the new M's were close to the L's in weight they would make a great rifle in .308.

XCR War

I got one in 7.62x39 right now that I plan on taking deer hunting in a couple of weeks, gonna give the Hornady SST a go and see how they run. Once the 308's become available though, I may turn the 7.62x39 into my high end plinker.

XCR-M everyday of the week, all are good for some tasks but a 308 is good for all tasks... Cheers. JP.

Buy both otherwise your child making device might fall off.

But seriously, XCR-L 7.62x39 for plinking and 6.8 SPC for hunting, in a pinch 7.62x39 can be used for hunting you just have to be closer to your game and use softpoints.

Nothing like plinking at 14 cents a round :)

That's ok - it can be fixed with...

Depends on what you hunt (if you hunt at all)

and those same 7.62X39 mags with fit eleven thats right eleven 6.8SPC...

I agree with Blaxsun = I have both 223 & 6.8SPC uppers for my XCR-L...:)

Depends on what type of hunting you do!
6.8 SPC is a great deer cartridge but 308 is a great all-rounder.

If I were looking primarly for a utility/hunting rifle, I would get an XCR-M.

If I were primarily looking for a utility/hunting rifle... I'd buy a hunting rifle (probably something in .300 WSM). The XCR-M in .308 is fine, but it's not exactly cheap to 'plink' with, either. That's why I think the XCR in .223 with a 6.8SPC upper is a better option (again, just sticking to options with the XCR).

Thanks guys for all your comment! I'm currently leaning toward the xcr-l .223 for now, (even though I know in then end I'll want both of them) but I'm juste scared the xcr-l will look goofy with the 18,5 barrel. Anyone has some pics that they took themselves?! It would help me decide, I'm just not conviced with the pics I find on google.
