Hello Everyone,
I just joined the forum and will be getting my first firearm in the near future
. I have decided on getting an AR style .22 but my question is which one do I get? I have a few requirements/preferences:
1) I do not like the look of the Ruger SR-22, 10/22 conversions, or the Remington 597 VTR. These all have blocky, ugly receivers.
2) Must be non-restriced. I just want to be able to walk into the woods and blast away at cans, steel targets, etc.
3) The rifle must have a flat top. I do not like the "carry handle" (is that what it's called?) that some of these rifles have.
So everyone, what's my best option? I understand that the Mossberg is quite popular, but I believe it has that annoying carry handle. I am completely in love with the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22, but it's restricted (so lame). I am actually living in the US right now (will be for the next 14 months before moving home to Vancouver) so I might just buy the S&W and sell it before coming home.
Thanks a lot for the help!
