For all of you gentlemans that said i did not look good the cheap Tasco red dot ,i did reinstalled the original Spark red dot, lets go in style... Cheers. JP.
You are right but i was wondering, cut it flush with the open sight or leave one inch in front of the open sight, got nearly 3 inch in front of OS.... What do you think gentlemans... Cheers. JP.
I really think it's neat. It's also reversible.
Sure it doesn't look right - but if it shoots better - and I'd assume it would work - then enjoy your work!
I love my mosin repro. I think these rifles have a lot going for them.

Personally I'd mount the red dot more over and lined up with the rear site base and trim the extra rail that hangs past the body of the sight. But that's just me.
BTW that's a nice looking rifle in front of the Mosin in the last pic. Is it a Swedish Mauser?
As a side note...I just peeked at the Frontier site and it's Mosin Nagant not Mosin Negant.
Yes it is a 6.5 X55 Swedish Mauser Sporte i did restaure the wood and had a chance of shooting it, surprisingly accurate and a joy to shoot.... A 200.00 rifles bought a Tradeex, who said life have to be expensive... Cheers. JP.
I'm not sure if it looks better or worse than an SKS with optics.... But I guess, at least some of the Mosins are capable of long range accuracy, so it does serve a purpose.
I was looking at the sights of both my Mosin and my SVT and i think i will fit the picanitty rail on the SVT, if i succed this should make a Badass rifle, it all ready is shooting with open sight and goods handloads 2 inchs or less, the Sparc could bring it sub moa, i guess with my eyes it can cost me easy one inch in grouping, may start that project today... Cheers. JP.
