Here's mine...a circa 1918 M1911 US Army.

When I got it, the finish had been stripped, came with three barrels (one correct HP and two aftermarket), the correct grips and mags though the grips were worn smooth and the mags are less than mint. I found a box of ammo to go with it, and had it reblued at a local gunsmith as I figure it couldn't be worth any less than with a chemically stripped finish...

Colt Talo - o1970A1MA

Recently, after installing coltsmfg's checkered slide lock, slide stop and grips, went a bit further for USGI parts: "milled' checkered trigger and short wide-spur hammer.

Wow So many pretty and shiny 1911's in here! I almost feel like mine doesn't belong in this thread

BUT ... It's an original Colt 1911A1, and I love it I don't care that it isn't shiny ...
actually prefer it that way since I won't feel bad if I ever need
to beat some sense into someone with it

Untouched and shoots as good as I need it to.
(the odd two tone effect towards the end of the barrel is just lighting)

Yes, I'm a proud 1911A1 owner
(couldn't get the proper 1911A1 plate I wanted ...
had to settle for i's instead ...
some stupid rule about if there is only 1 letter on a plate,
it's automatically designated as a Trailer plate )
