Does buying powder requires PAL?

What you are suggesting is that those who work at the gun counter should have a law degree with a specialty in firearms law (when even LEO's, judges, lawyers, and those who write the laws don't know anything about the law) . What do you think that would do to prices?

This guy didn't BS the customer, he didn't know, took the high road and looked to find the answer, and will now know.

Your asking to much of a person who works in retail.

Bought some primers at WSS in Winnipeg the other day. Went to the wallet for the PAL, and the guy said "what do I need to see that for?"

I wasn't sure, but he sure seemed to be.

I'm pushing 66 and the chap in Reliable asked me back in June when I was last buying bullets & powder, but I had never dealt with him before either..
 
I've bought powder and supplies all around Alberta for years and only once was asked to sign the powder log. That was at WSS a couple of years ago,never been asked for my PAL though.

WSS on the north side of Edmonton DOES have a powder log that they sometimes fill out. It depends on if they can find it or not. Anytime they've asked me, they always pass the book to me to fill in. Eddie VanHalen, Kim Mitchell, Wendy Cukier, Allan Rock, and "The Liberal Party of Canada" have all bought powder there. :D
 
PAL required and recorded for powder purchase at Le Baron (Mississauga) and Hummason (Ancaster) within the last few months.

I think this is an Ontario regulation – PAL is also required to purchase loaded ammunition but not for brass, bullets or primers.

Yup, hit or miss there. Sometimes while waiting for your "number" to be called the log is on the counter and it's good reading. Mohammoud Abu Abu apparently bought 50 kgs of powder!! Laugh2
 
I don't like the fact that I have to sign a book that every other customer gets to see because next thing you know everyone will be trying to load my "awesome" recipes....
