I hope the Alaskan Brush Hunter will come in something stout - 9.3x62, 350 Rem Mag - or maybe they will bring back the .425 Express. That would be sweet.

This is the only information I could find which listed the following models:

ht tp://consumer.gzanders.com/itemlist.php?classid=S06&ilimit=100&sort=sortword,itemnumber

SAVAGE 11 HOG HUNTER .223 REM 20" THREADED BARREL OD GREEN
SAVAGE 11 HOG HUNTER .308 WIN 20" THREADED BARREL OD GREEN
SAVAGE 111 HOG HUNTER .338WM 20" THREADED BARREL OD GREEN

SAVAGE 116 ALASKAN BRUSH HNTR .338WM 18" STS STAINLESS BLACK

I sure hope they give the 223 a 1:12 twist option. This would be a great coyote rifle. The 22-250 comes with 1:12 twist, why can't they use a 223 reamer for the fur hunters? They will be nice hunters!

Man, you just listed the top 3 I've been lusting after lately!

Although, in addition to the short action .350 Rem Mag, I also have a really strong hankering for a .358 Norma Mag.

To get a 1:12, ya gotta go with the Remington. 50 gr vmax, 26.5 Win 748 and a magnum primer. Life does not get any better.

That Alaskan Brush hunter rifle is seriously awesome. There is no stainless rifle with detach mag and iron sights in existence that I know of for sale in inexpensive calibers. The only thing I've found so far is that Ruger rifle in .375

I sure hope Savage chambers that rifle in .308, that would be sweet. Of course it may cannibalize the sales of the WW16fcss but they don't really seem to care much about eating into their own sales, so long as Remington doesn't sell a rifle lol

If Savage really wanted to make this short barrel work then they should look at Rugers series of compact magnums. Laminate stock should be an option as well.
The RCM's achieve full power loadings in a 20 inch barrel. Ruger has set a new standard that will be hard to beat.
Given Savages rep. this would be an unbeatable combo.
