RONI Glock Carbine conversion kits - Good news!

They are not one and the same. A very obvious difference is the slide racker. The original is a solid polymer piece. The copy has a cut out on the left for whatever reason.

But if anyone is interested I am about to put my original Roni up for sale on the EE, inclusive of 3x magnifier, open sights, red dot, bayonet, sling, flashlight and laser.

AH.... nice catch. Didn't even notice that.

You know why there's a hole there? It's for the Glock 18's select-fire switch. The RONI kit that I had before didn't have that hole either, and to my knowledge, only the airsoft version has it.

I was hoping to pick one up again espeically for $125, but it's starting to look like this is an airsoft version instead. :( My only concern is safety, really.

As I indicated, just watch out for heat/tolerance issues. And keep an eye out for any stress cracks or fractures over time. For the most part you're still (mainly) holding and gripping the Glock - but you wouldn't want the front grip flying off while in the middle of shooting off a bunch of rounds...

Charging handle adaptor is actually one of the difference I can spot on the pictures posted earlier. An original Roni G1 charging handle don't have any holes on the left side...

But from what i've seen on some Roni "airsoft-copy" kits, it looks like they are giving two charging handle adaptors: Both KSC & Tokyo Marui G17 / G18C Type Adaptors. So one with no holes and one with a hole on the left...

Otherwise, to buy an original charging handle adaptor for a Roni, i'm pretty sure you can call and order one at "The Shooting Edge" @ 403.720.4867 or by their website contact section!

That's what is worrying me about... Heat tolerance and stress cracks.

I'll try to pry out both kits (original vs airsoft copy) when i'll have the airsoft copy in hands!

I order 2 and only need one, if somebody needs one, please send me a PM, I'll throw in shipping, so $125 delivered EMT, black in colour. I don't have them yet, probably by the end of this week - sold, sold, sold

If anyone in the lower mainland is looking for one of these check out craigslist...

The guy is selling one for $85.00. If I had a Glock I would grab it.....

You mean all the photos in CAA's promotional literature? ;)

LOL, no... :p

I mean the real agencies that uses them! ;)

A conversion like this might be useful for a police officer to keep in his vehicle. The LEO would only have to drop their weapon in and would get better range and accuracy, and this SBR would use the same mags as their duty weapon.

" The undercover officer must balance firepower with discretion. The RONI is small enough to easily fit into a 5.11 Select Carry Sling Pack with room to spare.
As shown here, the 5.11 Select Carry Sling Pack falls forward out of the way while still being attached to the weapon. "

For those administrators that are fighting city hall on the issue of patrol rifles, consider going with the RONI. With repeatable zero, full ambidextrous compatibility, a compact design and superb customer service from EMA tactical, there’s no reason not to have the RONI in the trunk of your patrol car. From a monetary standpoint it makes fiscal sense. Take the pistol that you already paid for, spend the $200 on the tax stamp and buy the RONI for $400. For less than the cost of an AR-15, you now have the ability to hammer threats at three times the range of a stand-alone handgun. Now, that's priceless.

Until next time, practice hard, and I'll see you on the streets.

These pistol to carbine conversions are only popular in Israel because you can get a pistol permit there. Civilian companies are also not allowed rifles as rifles are usually restricted to the military only. These devices were invented to circumvent their own unjust gun laws.

The cut out on the Charging handle piece is for the selector switch on a G18.

Range Report: I took my RONI to the club last night and sighted it in. Amazing. I brought targets home so I can take some pictures and show you all the results. I will try to get around to posting the pics tonight.

My free-standing groupings were just as tight as my bench rested groupings. I am totally in love with this thing, and I am shooting it with a crappy (Cheap) tasco red dot sight that has major parallax issues.

I will also try to get around to posting the assembly tutorial tonight too, but I might not have the will power with MW3 sitting here in my Xbox right in front of me.

Yeah, and those would be...?
I'm pretty sure they won't advertise what they have as armament! ;)

There's obviously a few agencies in Israel (police & military) that use them. Also there is some american agencies that thinks the Roni is perfect for officers in plain clothes (undercover) covering the Washington DC area. Having the Roni packed up in a 5.11 Select Carry Sling Pack, the people walking like normal civilians are actually ready for rapid response in case of active shooter situation or terrorist attack. M4/AR variants in 10.5" being a little too bulky for conceal-carry...

There's also Law Enforcement Officers in need of a primary weapon, but cannot because their police department don't want to pay for an assault rifle for every officer. So, these officers can turn into a Roni G1 and have an alternative in case of an active shooter or bank robbery, etc. Plus, this Roni kit can easily be transported into their patrol bag in the car.

Also some SWAT units that their recon/scout guy don't need a big assault rifle and their budget cannot buy him something like a B&T MP9 or H&K MP7... So the Roni is a good alternative.
From what I've seen, there's also some canadian agencies that uses them for active shooter response and security of some High-Value Target's perimeter! ;)

P.S.: Oh, and I personnally know some police officers that owns the Roni, because it fits their duty weapon and their department don't have the budget to give them AR-15s because they are only dedicated to Tactical Units.
So their Roni is there in their patrol bag, ready 4 action. If Sh*t Hits the Fan, they'll drop their Glock 17, Springfield XD and Sig P226 in there in 5 seconds, ready to engage threats to 50-100 meters! ;)
This is where I've first heard about the Roni! :p

There is one small problem; civilians cannot get their hands on full auto Glocks, which is where the Roni is most effective.

Exactly! ;)

You're right but the international community found out other applications to it too! ;)

Personally I'm looking forward to my kit coming in. If the AirSoft Manufacturers are gonna knock anything off, this is one product where it kinda makes sense. Basically a carrying case/stock extension for your Glock.

Does the mini-carbine make a whole lot of sense in Canada? Not really but it looks like a lot of fun and that's good enough for me. Besides when the zombies come I'll look like an uber-badass ;)

I think sometimes people miss the point of shooting sports in general, whether IPSC, Bullseye, Skeet or whatever goes BANG/BOOM. It's to enjoy yourself (safely of course).
