Sig 516

All say this if things ever end in the Mideast, and things just quiet down in general it will be interesting too see what last after the war boom is completely over. Not that it will ever completely end either!

This defiantly looks like another great rifle, and i would certainly buy if I needed another AR, but i think having all the things to go with it as far as accessories and ammo are my priorities for the foreseeable future! Mind you all my rifles are kitted out perfectly minus NV and ammo!

I don't believe that the SCAR (now dropped by SOCOM for the most part) or the ACR have a suppressor setting. I kind of like the ACR but think that most any other modern rifle is better.

For the special gunfighters it's all about suppressors now.

The SCAR has a gas setting which reduces the cylic rate for firing with can :welcome:

I been looking for the ultimate are. Ifwe can get this kit, which is better then hk 416, i think i might buy my first ar.

Who said it was better then the HK?

I've handled and shot the 516, it is a nice AR. It was supposedly designed by the same man who designed the HK 416. Fit and finish on the rifle I handled were really good. No play between the upper and lower. Shoots well too.

The problem with Sig's is that the QC has been pretty bad these days. There's a lot higher chance of getting a lemon from Sig then there is from HK.

HK416 surpasses most if not all AR's out there, yeah there are other companies out there, but for big contracts and service ability, HK wins hands down. There will always be another great rifle out there, but i would say most MIL/LEO agencies are using yesterdays cool stuff and their doing fine. It will be telling to see what companies will be around in another 7 years...

I want a ar. I am the type Of guy that wants the best.

I was going to consider a core 15 but i am craving the hk actually. But The 4 postion adjustable gas system sounds like adream on the sig516.

And to this day, still a platform that has more jams, failures to feed, failure to go into battery, problems with dust, lack of lube, rain, mud, etc. then any other platform out of the last 200 years :)

There's one for sale on GunAuction .ca

Yup, and the price is already getting out of hand.:(.

Obviously the seller got it into the country, so it has a FRT number. It shouldn't cost more than 2K for an individual to import one him/herself (I've priced it out at retail thru an importation service). It all depends on what provisos (if any) the US State dept puts on the export license.

Now that it has an FRT number, hopefully one of our Canuck dealers can bring them in.:)
