I'm sorry to disappoint you bean, but it appears your internet sarcasm detector failed to go off.XCR has more rail real estate than any rifle, you can bolt on just about every boat anchor and kitchen sink you can imagine, you have 3 differenrt caliber to pick from , the stock adaptors that will let you use every AR stock on the market.
Seriously, Just what are you really looking for?![]()
What pushes the envelope for the AR and M14 clone crowd are the U.S. subcontractors manufacturing parts and upgrades for the U.S. military. Case in point the proliferation of replacement BUIS for the M4 or M14 upgrades to DMR configuration. Build a better mousetrap and maybe land a fat U.S. government contract. These milspec items do make there way down to civvie street, though can be hard to find sometimes.
Two examples from my Norc shorty build: Smith Enterprises Extended Bolt Release and Navy Brake. Both milspec, both available for civilian purchase, both sometimes on back order when production is earmarked for the military.
XCR upgrades have to be sustained by civilian sales and the XCR most likely would only have a small portion of the black rifle crowd.

AR has been around for more than 50 years now, but the aftermarket products didn't come into existence, until the last 10-15 years. If consider the amount of time and money have been pour into the AR family of rifles vs the time and moeny spent on developing the XCR, it is like comparing the sun and a grain of sand.
while not a 45/70, or a 458 SOCOM, rumor has it that a 338 Federal may happen for their new M platform. bigger is better, no?I just want RA to come up with a 458 SOCOM conversion kit for my XCR-L...
I have found the brass and have all of the other reloading components already for my 45-70...
Come on RA help with my dream combo rifle 223/6.8SPC/458 SOCOM = awesome...

Would it have anything to do with possibly using the wrong mags?
What kind of 7mm round are you referring to?
CC
I'm assuming you mean 7.62x39 mag... anyways, talk to Wolverine/wherever you bought it. The mag should be exchanged for the correct one and the bolt catch replaced. Really no excuse for that.
I don't think the occurance is that common, though I have heard of a couple of broken bolt catches before. Mine is still going strong after 2000 rounds and a carbine course.
