That being said I have to take exception to those posters here who are taking trigger discipline lightly. Firearms safety is something nobody can afford to be complacent with, and to ignore the 4 rules is to invite injury or worse.
Who's taking 'trigger discipline lightly'???
It's a PICTURE, NOT VIDEO. You have NO idea that they didn't PROVE the WEAPON as SAFE.
Note that I used the term WEAPON: these are military guys with military WEAPONS. It's NOT CIVILIAN WORLD.
And you have NO PROOF they aren't being 100% safe handling. You are ASSUMING they aren't being safe. And you are VERY likely wrong.
How the F do you guys think you train recruits how to safely handle and USE a C7 rifle, without pulling the trigger!?!?
How do you rest the hammer springs on a firearm that's empty, without pulling the trigger? (on the 80% of firearms that have concealed hammers, that is). Pretty much ALL military weapons are designed and meant to be dry fired. Done for doing drills, and instruct in marksmanship skills before wasting tax dollars on bullets too early in the training cycle. How do you do all that? Pull the trigger. And last I checked, it's pretty difficult to pull the trigger without "putting your finger on the trigger."
No one, and I MEAN NO ONE from the military world wants unsafe handling. WE are in far more danger from unsafe handling of firearms than any normal civilian hunter or range rat: we take civilians, instruct them for 8 months and then turn them loose on live fire ranges, with humans running and themselves shooting DOWNRANGE FROM YOUR OWN SHOTS. Unsafe=dead. And I'm talking about peacetime training, not warzone firefights. I was in the service during the peacekeeping 90's, not the Taliban-2000's.
Just because someone has their finger on the trigger in a picture doesn't mean ANYTHING about safety. You can't tell what happened 1 second before the pic or 20 minutes before the pic. That other parties have also cleared empty.

Time for a break from CGN for me.
. No wonder why the Antis have a little bit of fact behind them ... because guys like you give it to them.
