I own an HK45, as mentioned above, it is a joy to shoot. The recoil is very, very smooth, it is not as harsh as a 1911, and is much tamer than my Sig P220.
As with all HK's I've shot, it's a very accurate pistol.
The HK45 grip fits my hand very well, you wouldn't think you were holding a .45. It fits my hand better than the USP. The grip on the HK45 is contoured to fit your hand, very similar to the design used on the HK P30L.
I also own a HK USP in .45, as well as a HK Mark23. The only .45 pistol I like to shoot more than the HK45....................................is the Mark23!! ;-)
My HK45 was part of the small shipment (approx. 16 total!) that came into Canada in early June this year. Wolverine had some, Epps had about 6 and Al Simmons had 2 (where I bought mine).
From what I understand a few more have 'trickled' in since, but they are not an easy gun to find. The odd one comes up on the EE every so often, both the earlier German made ones and the newer US made ones.
If you have the spare $$$ and manage to come across one for sale, I'd highly recommend picking one up. Some people prefer the German made guns, but from what I have heard/read, the US made guns are built just as well.
If you buy one, you won't be disappointed.
