Anyone shot an HK45?

I haven't, but I've owned a P30 in the past and it was an amazing gun. I would imagine it would be the same but in .45 goodness! It's a large gun though! Now, if only HK would allow the HK45c to come to Canada... that would be AWESOME.

The hk45ct (hk45c with longer threaded barrel) can be imported. I plan on doing that in the new year through prophet river

I own an HK45, as mentioned above, it is a joy to shoot. The recoil is very, very smooth, it is not as harsh as a 1911, and is much tamer than my Sig P220.
As with all HK's I've shot, it's a very accurate pistol.
The HK45 grip fits my hand very well, you wouldn't think you were holding a .45. It fits my hand better than the USP. The grip on the HK45 is contoured to fit your hand, very similar to the design used on the HK P30L.
I also own a HK USP in .45, as well as a HK Mark23. The only .45 pistol I like to shoot more than the HK45....................................is the Mark23!! ;-)
My HK45 was part of the small shipment (approx. 16 total!) that came into Canada in early June this year. Wolverine had some, Epps had about 6 and Al Simmons had 2 (where I bought mine).
From what I understand a few more have 'trickled' in since, but they are not an easy gun to find. The odd one comes up on the EE every so often, both the earlier German made ones and the newer US made ones.
If you have the spare $$$ and manage to come across one for sale, I'd highly recommend picking one up. Some people prefer the German made guns, but from what I have heard/read, the US made guns are built just as well.
If you buy one, you won't be disappointed.

word on the street is 1200 by the time its in your hands. (i might pick one up after i do my year end in feb)
Jeez, that's like the same price I paid for my USPc .45. I think I'm gonna HAVE to buy one of these. I've never had a gun imported though, any idea what the timeframe usually is?

No way the HK45CT is going to be $1200 in your hands...unless you find it used selling for $750 (which is highly unlikely for the CT model). On gunbroker it tends to go about $1159 (remember the CT model here...not C). Put in the $250 import fee, taxes, shipping...I'm thinking more like $1900.

Want to go in on a group buy for it? I'm in for that...50% down, he brings them in, the rest paid...sounds good to me. What's been holding me up is my leeriness of dealing with gunbroker.com

I'd be interested in doing this. Anyone else? Clay told me he will look around for a better deal than gunbroker.

Even if you are on the fence buy one, try it, if you don't like it, it will sell like a hotcake on the EE. Folks, these are great guns, and history will likely prove them to be one of the best 45's ever made.
