I think a mini-14 target will be next rifle I buy the wife once she gets her license. That should piss off wendy.

Thats the funny part if it wasn't for Wendy and the CGC then the mini 14 would most likely die off as its a POS, IMO lol
They are driving sales up and don't even realize it.

mini-14 they pattern, not group.

Disassembly is easy, pull the trigger group out, then the action. When the op rod guide spring embeds itself in your chest or face, due to both the sharpened end and the lack of a retained retaining pin, you know you are well on your way to being able to clean the rifle.

I can't say which is the worst, but I can say this is the best response so far. I actually laughed out loud.

Even Alex Robinson the designer of XCR knows how bad the XCR is. He does not want people to shoot the XCR thats why he supported Mitt Romney for President a man who signed an assault weapons ban into law.

Another strong advocate for gun rights old Bill, and he sure saw the future of firearms, ahh actually not. Wonder what he would think of the Ruger 556 or what ever the piston AR they are selling?

well from what i have read on CGN the past year or so the MR1 out of the box will out shoot the Mini14 , SU16 and the more expensive XCR and Tavor ?? there is a thread around where a guy is showing his groups and they look as good as the groups i shoot with my Swiss Arms!

Not to be an MR1 hater (I'm not despite it not being ###y looking), the above statement seems like a "throw away" to me.

Nobody can conclusively point to any good information proving the MR1 can outshoot any of those rifles. You would need to hook it to a lead sled, remote-fire the guns with the exact same test ammo for all models mentioned to begin to prove anything. Then you need to repeat testing with a variety of other ammo and average the results for all guns. Then maybe...

A CGN posted grouping isn't proof of anything.

Operators differ, different guns like different loads, etc.

AMEN! Thanks Claven2 for the most intelligent post in this thread so far.

One member posts pics of a decent group with his much beloved MR-1 and it is quickly elevated to "epic CGN semi-auto of accuracy status".
Guess what?...My CSA in 5.56 shot sub-MOA consistently with 69gr SMKs and Varget and was half the cost of an MR-1.
I have a load that shoots MOA out of my XCR as well, it's double the cost of the MR-1
I can also easily find factory ammo that will group 6" or worse consistently out of either said rifle.
NEWSFLASH! A TUNED HANDLOAD USING PREMIUM BULLETS WILL MAKE ALMOST ANY MODERN AUTO-LOADER A SHOOTER, PROVIDED THE "SHOOTER" IS UP TO THE TASK.

And speaking on the subject of the majority of "CGN posted groupings", I would put as much stock in them as I do the OP's constant slagging of a rifle he has admittedly never even owned! :jerkit:

In fairness, I've actually been pretty good this week. I even recommended the XCR in another thread (must have been a momentary lapse in judgement, but I digress...).

I had to pick the XCR. Mostly because it's the only rifle I've seen sweating parts during a course like a fat kid running. Both XCR's ran in such fashion, to the point that during a course of fire, my rifle jammed, but I was able to cobble together a weapon from shed XCR parts and complete the drill.

I voted XCR as well. Just becasue I have read the threads. You just cant fvcking stand the mere mention of it. It makes you sicK , and makes you say things like, "I did recommend it once". Why all the HATE? I will explain . To you the XCR is competition to the ACR(becasue Magpul had something remotely to do with it). You being a Magpul whore , and dealer ( a good one), see the XCR as a threat . This makes it even easier to slander. You have also shipped me parts for an XCR a few times(and probably many others) and you probably did not even know it. This is what keeps you up at night. This is why this very thread was created. So you can once and for all have peace with yourself, when everyone votes for the XCR becasue they just want the prize. When you award ME with the prize, I hope it is a Magpul product so I can soil it by slipping it on an XCR.

*tehehe.

Not at all. If you think about it, there's much more that can be upgraded on an XCR: stock, pistol grip, buis, magazines, vertical grips... On an ACR what can you add? A vertical grip. I would also hazard a guess that the number of XCRs in Canada probably outnumber the number of ACRs by a factor of greater than 50:1.

So this must be a "least kool" thread or something.

There are 4 guns on the list which are/have been (in selective format) actually issued as combat weapons. I notice 2 of them are "worst ever" candidates, 2 others are "best of worst" candidates.

Mini-14
Norinco M4
FN 2000
IWI Tavor
