Thanks! Getting your first gun after about 14 years of 'being banned' is a big choice to make. Was tempted with all sorts, Kimbers, M&Ps, Glocks, Sig X-6 (yeah right! $$$) and caliber choice was tough too.
After playing with reloading costs, it had to be a 1911 .45 - it's the 100yr anniversary after all!

For me the Sig 1911 (Target Stainless) came out top, and I'm really pleased. Definitely the right choice.

My Norc 1911, done with Brownells alumihyde II. The frame is not shiney, it's just the flash from the camera.

That's how mine was when I first got her from Can-Am 2 years ago, until I gave her the face lift in the above post.

Yes, I'm a proud 1911A1 owner
(couldn't get the proper 1911A1 plate I wanted ...
had to settle for i's instead ...
some stupid rule about if there is only 1 letter on a plate,
it's automatically designated as a Trailer plate )

Thats why you get M1911A1
