KSG status

how about a canadian manufacturer that would make a bullpup that holds it all: .223 in one tube , .308 in another tube, shotgun shells in the last one

F?%$ the .223, lets make it .50 cal !!!

Everywhere else it's called a monopoly and is generally frowned upon in the business world, however it seems that in this trade it's an accepted way of life. I feel for all the retailers who are at the mercy of a few distributors and who have to bear all the wrath of the consumer.

Ruger's usually sell for the US MSRP up here but in Canadian dollars.....of course they sell for less then the US MSRP in the US but that goes for just about everything as it makes the consumer feel like he's getting a deal.
Not sure who the Ruger importer is but somehow I don't think it's Vault.
I agree that because there is no physical changes needed for this model and due to the exchange rate these days ,a fair price would be the US suggested retail.
It's still more then down south but I don't think anyone here is asking for the same deal as are American cousins just a fair deal.

Agreed.

I own an RFB and I can somewhat understand the mark up due to the changes made to that rifle for the Canadian market . And I understand that that all parties involved in importing need to make money, but if there are no changes or added costs to manufacture the product, then I would hope to see prices similar to the "Ruger" situation .

Can anyone tell me what the major differences are between the Kel tech shotgun and the UTAS UTS-15 12ga shotgun that is for sale at another vendor for 1650.00 ? Obviously the barrel and mag tubes are reversed, but what else? It's possible that it's worth the extra money considering the Q.C. problems with the early RFB's. Anyone find a comparison out there?

There are lots of googleable comparisons. In brief:
- ksg slightly lighter.
- ksg shorter
- ksg fully ambi (bottom eject).
- both take 3" shells; the ksg will work below 2" (not sure about the uts)
- ksg has bottom rail (lots of pics with vfg's on the rail)
- uts reloads by opening a hinged door, loading, closing door. ksg reloads by stuffing rounds in from below as usual (although access is not as open as the uts).
- uts auto-switches from one tube to the next. ksg has a manual switch.
- uts has carbon fibre.
- most likely the ksg will have a better trigger, as it is patterned after the rfb trigger and corrects the usual mushy bullpup trigger pull.
- uts can be had with built-in light / laser

Just got an email from Lanz. $995.00 and in store February.

Well. MSRP is $880, @ $995 it's $115 above.
The su16 is about $130 above MSRP.

So, they are pricing the KSG closer to MSRP then they did the SU16.
I was hoping for better.
