KSG status

@Gary...Just out of curiousity...how deep is the preorder list for the KSG? If I recall, I think I'm somewhere around #5 (which will mean second shipment if previous orders hold true). So probably April/May for me...:(

I'm #4. I'm hoping that they get at least that many so I get one in the first batch. I'm so excited. I think about this shotgun every single day.

It will shoot 3".

At some point they said that you would have to insert manually the 3" shell in the chamber, the loading mechanism working only with shorter shells.

I wrote to Vault about a green KSG and they said they won't have any colored KSG and that we're lucky to have it in black...?

"at some point" was the early-2011 prototype at Shot Show. They have since made a number of positive changes (e.g., trigger reset). The quote below my statement about 3" shells is direct from the website. If correct, it now feeds everything from 3" to under-2" shells.

Yeeeeaaahhh.... If it's <= $1000 AFTER taxes, I'll buy one. If it's over $1000 after paying those ##########s in Ottawa and Victoria, I'll just let someone else suck up the BS fees and buy one used.

Ruger's usually sell for the US MSRP up here but in Canadian dollars.....of course they sell for less then the US MSRP in the US but that goes for just about everything as it makes the consumer feel like he's getting a deal.
Not sure who the Ruger importer is but somehow I don't think it's Vault.
I agree that because there is no physical changes needed for this model and due to the exchange rate these days ,a fair price would be the US suggested retail.
It's still more then down south but I don't think anyone here is asking for the same deal as are American cousins just a fair deal.

Most people forget what is MSRP.

MSRP = Manufacturer's price + expenses by seller + profit by seller.

In other words, the manufacturer sells for $500 and tell the distributor that the good price to sell is $800. However, dealer may sell for $750 to move the product. That's why the advertising often says "dealer may sell for less"

Considering exchange rates (goes up and down) and export-import licensing fees, the maximum fair Canadian MSRP is actually US MSRP + 10% (10% includes $20 import fee, 3% export fee [could be cheaper], generous 7% exchange rate fee).

Lol yeah, but what does it weigh after you got both tube full of shells...
It will weigh about what a Mossberg 590A1 weighs with a large sidesaddle ;) Of course, when I add a sidesaddle to my KSG (when it gets here) ... it will weigh a bit more.

Since the weight is a lot closer to the body than on a conventional shotgun, it should still handle well. Time will tell.

Can't wait to see some CGN hands on and see what neat ideas people will come up for them.
U can say I have a couple. Yes it would be safe to say that.
