I think this is a lyman tang sight, but no markings to show, only marks are under base which are DA which I believe to be (D) for winchester 94) and A for the locking arm. I if have that correct? So is this a Lyman or Marbles? Thanks.

Road King got the rifle designation correct but it's not a 2A, it's a 1A.
A 2A would have a stem that you can screw an aperture into, the 1A has a fold down peep attached in the stem itself and I believe I can see the flip down peep on the far side of that pic.
I love old sights more than I do the guns they go on!

However, the code DA on underside of the base is the code for the Winchester 1894 (94) in .25/35, .30/30 (30WCF) & .32 Special calibers, the Model 53 in .25/20 & .32/20 calibers, the Model 55, .30/30 caliber, and Models 64 & 65. Matt, thats right, the A denotes the locking lever on the side opposed to the old style Lyman with the round spring on the side. On my sights, the second row furthest to the left would be just a Lyman 2 as it has a screw in aperture and no lever lock. The one underneath it would be a Lyman tang sight as well but it wouldn't have either a 1 or a 2 as they were made for Savage and have neither the spring or the locking lever, they were known as Savage #18 or #19's.
Nice boxes RK. I will post pics of my sight collection when I get back home after the holidays. I have a lot NIB, also a couple Marbles sight trees which are very rare, and a neat thing to see if you have not seen one before. They were given to sales representatives to take to stores to show retailers what the company offered in varied types of sights, including front sights, apertures, tang sights, receiver sights, etc. The boxes for some of the old sights are pretty neat too. As I am into Winchesters, all mine are for Winchester rifles, with the exception of a few of the items on the sight trees.

If you have a close look I've got some real hard ones to get, theres a Watson, a Parker Hale and two different versions of the King tang sights mixed in mine for the 1899's.
If I ever trip over a NOS Winchester tang I'll swap you up for that one!
If 99trix finds this thread maybe he'll post a pic of his #29, didn't even know Savage made one in that configuration for the 1899 till he found one.

It took me 12 years to find a proper peep for my Savage 1919 original model. It was a Lyman Target , as could not find an original Savage made peep, but got a great deal, only $110for a very precice top mount peep! Great thread, Dale Z!!!

I've got a NOS 30 1/2 as well. Or is it the 31 1/2? Hmmm, pretty sure it's a 30 1/2, same as RK's. Have to look when I get home.
Maddog: Do you have a Savage no. 17? I saw a brand new one (without box) a year or so in Syracuse. Would have bought it but the price this guy was asking was out of this world.

Found this sight a few weeks ago in a junk box at a gun show. This Winchester Model 62B is likely the rarest Winchester tang sight to be found. Made only for the model 1873
There was also 1/2 dozen Watson globe front sights in the box.

Matt, as a matter of fact, ya I do have a #17, it's second from the left in this pic. It's on a Savage model 1895 right now though. Probably as rare as the Winchester tang RoadKing posted and would cost about the same. You missed a good one.

No these were not on a table but a guy just brought a bunch of books and some old parts in to sell. He couldn't get $20.00 for the stuff and I really didn't need 10 years of Man of Arms magazines and some plastic bag with a bunch of rusty screws and bits and pcs of stuff that I really didn't have time to go through. After a while he came back to my table and asked me if I would give $10.00 for the books and stuff. So what the heck I said yes.
The tang sight was all in pcs so it really didn't look like a sight, but I did reconize the eye pc as from a 62B sight. So I kept digging and found the rest of it. Called him the next day and went and found the spring that was missing in some more junk that he had and ended up with all the stuff in the picture below. Never know what you will find at Ontario Gun Shows.
