Hi Kampfhamster - I see you're from switzerland.

Do you know why the swiss add the little loops of paracord to the sling when they attach it to their stgw90/sig550s?

I've always wondered why they don't just attach the sling like the manual says and then make it a little longer.

Because the sling is too short. Ten years after the rifle was adopted the army changed the shooting technique, which required a longer sling. Instead of getting new slings the army decided to improvise with paracord. Works actually not bad at all, only got myself a new sling this year after using the old setup for 8 years

Do you know how long the sling needs to be? I have a Classic Green but I don't know how to tell if I have a new sling or an old one.

There's just one length. What the school of infantry actually wants is listed in the Swissarms catalog as "Kastinger-sling", it's only issued for the Minimi-gunners though.

Length if the paracord is about 1m each, but I keep mine way shorter. About 30cm at the front sight and about 70cm in the rear. It really depends on ones personal preference.
 
Meinst du vielleicht das SIG Sport, SIG-Kempf oder SAR Europa Sport?
Das Militär-550 ist mit Gewissheit verboten.
Die oben genannten sind die deutschen Zivilversionen.

edit: oder eine alte KriegsWaffKontrG-Änderung eines PE90 (als das noch möglich war)?

It's a spacer that lengthens your stock by 3cm
The price includes mounting by the dealer.
 
Been thinking about buying a black rifle. Was looking at ARs but have always admired the Swiss Arms Black Special and Classic Green. I've noticed a few photos here and there showing what resembles an AR lower on them, and I really like that look. Are these available? What's the story on them? (Yeah i realize that it's probably been discussed a dozen times before.)

Damn expensive in my honest opinion considering all it does is allow the use of AR mags. Since AR mags cost $40 and the Dominion Defence mags cost $45, there is zero cost benifit either if your main reason for buying one is to use AR mags over the factory Sig mags which are like $100+.
