222 or 223 rem for yote hunting

Seen some 222 at CDN tire also . As for buying a brand new rifle you find much at all in 222....maybe a Cooper. If its not a rifle you are going to keep forever the .223 will be easier to resell. I once sold a stevens 200 for 335$ shipped on EE in 10 minutes.

In addition to what others have mentioned, I would go .223 for the simple reason it will be easier to sell used when you want to upgrade later.

Archie .....
A 223 is one better than a 222. I would think its bigger.

Both calibers can use the same diameter projectile...i reload both calibers and with the same 50 grain weight bullet, there is a difference of 1/2 grain in powder. I prefer the BSA .222 rifle as it is lighter than the .233 savage. Both shoot almost exactly the same to 300 yards.

.223 has the edge over .222 in performance .
But I prefer 22.250
Savage is a great product for the money. Lots of performance value there.
Remington should be ashamed of producing such crap as the 710 and 770
IMHO

22-250 is nice, but heats the barrel way fast. I like my 204, like a laser. And doesn't heat the barrel near as fast.

.223-.222= .001....its one more better...and bigger.

Cant wait for my Montana .223 to come in....gotta slap a bear between the ears with a TTSX....

Toymaker, I'm well aware of such bullet diameters and whats, what. I was just trolling for a sucker...thanks for biting!!!! :p :p

That's a fantastic deal... I love 223... Looking to get a 22-250 just because... But I will always own a 223... Recoil free accurate fun out to 300

i used my uncles 22-250 last year for coyotes it hit them hard! using winchester 45 gr going 4000fps!!!! ammo is a little more exspencive though!

Always see people putting 22-250 down because it cooks barrels and heats to fast....... How many times are you guys missing before you hit your dogs?

Exactly... My .223 is a barrel of fun... I take it to the range and fire off rounds without care... That makes me more proficient with the rifle ... They are readily available.. Cheap... Also, I shot the nato 5.56 in the forces... And loved it... .223 is an awesome caliber.. All around fun and what I would always use to get folks aquainted to shooting... And it is a great 300 yard round... 22-250 is the step up if you can swing the ammo

i shot 35 rounds through his gun and the barrel was only warm. but it was a heavy barrel. i only missed 2 time last year! each call set i called them into 150 to 50 yards and droped every single one!
