I thought there was some talk about having the on-line sign up set up so it will open matches on a time and date that is good for everyone to have a chance to sign up  as it is now you have to Pretty much camp out on the site

Naturally, but you'll get a different answer depending who you'd ask. The match directors who're setting up matches (nothing really stops them to open matches at the same time); the owner of the ipsc-matches.net; the IPSC Ontario board. You can read the official position on the IPSC Ontario web site.

There was some talk...on GunNutz.

Big deal.

...

Well CGN is the largst BY FAR Canadian Firearm resource with over 80,000 competitors of which most IPSC ontario members are posters or lurkers.
So yes I would say that it is in fact the Biggest deal in that regard.

Now it is true that some want it less of a big deal..........but that does not take away from reality?

I guess it just proves the point...this is not the official forum for IPSC Ontario...
I always wondered at proving points that really have no point just for the sake of making a point? Am I clear on that point?

John, obviously the OP question is related to situation with IPSC matches in Ontario (more specifically, with about 1200 members all local matches are filling up very quick). The reality is that CGN is a commercial web site which is still not an official resource of IPSC Ontario.

All IPSC Ontario members had voted on their Board of Directors, which is supposed to act on their behalf, coordinate and promote IPSC sports in the province. I believe it makes sense to contact the board directly with any concerns related to IPSC in Ontario.

I'm sure you mean 80,000 members, with probably 2% or less as regular posters (half of which don't care about action shooting), and more than 50% who have never posted at all. There are BY FAR more firearms owners that have never heard of CGN than have.

It's not a bad site - there's lot of good info to be found, but a lot of bad info as well.

I wish people would stop promoting CGN as the 'final word' for IPSC Ontario, and start directing inquiries (especially about BB courses) from new or prospective shooters to IPSC Ontario.

Just my 'New Year Rant' ....carry on.

BTW John, what is your point? :D

well show me a site taht has more members or a larger impact on the shooting sports in Canada and you might have a point.

Oh most certainly, of course there should be people to point out those errors.

I am not sure anyone has said that it or ANY place is the final word for IPSC or any other subject. It is however by are the largest in terms of Canadian content on IPSC or any other subject that I am aware of.

If you can point me to another I would love to see it.

My point is that freedom is a great. People should think about that once in a while.

Lately it seem as if you've mistaking anarchy for a freedom...

Freedom is funny thing, you need to take good with bad.
If someone sees bad only maybe calls it anarchy, but this is still freedom, something what is hard to grasp for many...

They have a Canada section??

(btw I do love that place...........)

No but they do have more members with good info that does have a big effect on Action Shooting in Canada and I would bet that most of the top shooters in Canada would go there for info on Action Shooting before they would here. A lot may just go there and don't even bother with CGN.
