As an inexperienced shooter looking to expand my collection, I'm turning my attention away from rimfire and would like to break into the world or shotguns in the next few months.
Now, I seem to only be interested in super old and very cool classic designs - break action double and o/u. Or very modern military esque. With these considerations, I am also looking for versatile. I want something that I can shoot trap, skeet, and maybe even slugs. I REALLY like the M4, and I think I always have, but never knew what it was until a couple years ago. If I were to get one, would it be plausible for all aforementioned purposes? If so or not, please let me know why. Also! Where a good place to get one online. I'm just doing my research for now and will be looking to buy my first shotgun in a few months time.
I do know it is 'recommended' people usually get a 870 or 500 for their first shotgun, but these limit me in their pump action, which would eliminate the prospect of skeet, would it not?
If I get serious about either sport, ill obviously refine my selection afterwards and expand my collection once again. For now, just looking for an all arounder and would really hope the M4 gets the people with experiences blessing
