May be the first SR1911 in Canada or not.

Get out the cigars.
I'm just waiting for the transfer to clear so I can bring home the new addition to the family.
A 39 ounce, 8.67" long, bouncing SR1911.
The shop only received one of these but it's a start.

Really?, I haven't heard a thing from anyone about them coming in as of yet before I was called on this one last week.
Still though, can't wait to get it in my hands.

This is the first I've heard of any coming in also.
I've been calling several shops all over Ontario and no body seems to have seen any come in lately either. At least not the shops I've called.
Nice to hear their starting to trickle into Canada tho.

I don't get it, more than a few guys on the forum said they've had theres for a long time... yet not a single pic :confused:

They are a really nice 1911. Checked it out yesterday and I am very impressed with fit/finish/features. Takes Colt mags perfectly too. The boys down south are raving about them and I understand the Cdn distributor didnt get the full order so it appears they are distributing only a few to as many dealers they can, short shipping the retailers as well. Ruger has a real hit on their hands with this one.

From some friends that have them their only compaint has been a gritty high weight trigger. They've since then done some polishing up of the gun and fired several more rounds and gotten much better, overall I suspect if you like a shiny gun without rails it is for sure a decent priced .45 indeed. I had a few opportunities to buy one easily that passed, but that's preference I like NON shiny guns is all. By summer there should be many to purchase. :)

Just purchased one today at my local shop. Got to fondle it for a while and then they put away till the paper work shows up. They only got the one in and I was lucky they phoned to let me know it had arrived. Pics as soon as it's home.:D

The real surprise is that it is NOT a shiney stainless like we have been led to believe from the promo pics. In fact it is a matte finish almost gunmetal gray, and looks very nice..

Hi 1911nut

Would you or anyone else happen to know what the deal is with the dot on the left side of the SR1911?
I've seen pics with yellow and white dots so far.

That finish is a large decision maker in buying the SR1911. I don't much care for a chrome/shiny style finish but love the matte gunmetal grey of the SR1911.
