So I got up early today to make the hour drive to port perry to pick up a cz-858. Got it home to the ranch and took three shots. Then dead trigger. Upon closer inspection I see that every time the trigger has worked 2 pins loose thus making it not function.

I'm taking it back, tuesday, to be fixed or returned.


Anyone else have this problem and was easily fixed. looking for hope here guys.

Did ya read the sticky? I never had that problem on my cz's but then I got Broncoo to tab them for me. Some say its a waste of time. But never had a problem yet. Again spend your night reading the stickies and have a good look at it. Also a good way to get to know your rifle.Good Luck
 
where did you buy it from, Williams arms???

If you dont want to work on it, take it back and get another one form them. It is fixable but may be worth your time to get another one at no extra cost.
 
I am taking back, but this is the only one they had. He says he has seen one before with this kind of problem.

I know what the problem is. The pins seem to short and the groves that are cut in to them to hold them in place arnt cut wide enough. I just don have the means to fix the issue.
 
Not gonna give up,I knew this happened in the past, you just never think it could happen to you. :(. I may need to order it from another retailer though. However this won't stop me from going back to Williams Arms, wasn't their fault.
 
The first time I shot my 858 it clicked on the 3rd round. It was if my heart weighed 100 pounds. It has not done it again though, so I almost know that feeling.
 
Mine has always functioned flawlessly over the past 4 or so years, but with the heavily waxed corrosive Czech ammo.
2 weeks ago I took it out in -15 weather and shot some of the Non Corrosive almost nickle plated MFS ammo (no wax coating), and the rounds seemed to flop around in the magazine. As such there were several feeding issues as the rounds didnt seem to sit right in the magazine, as though the Czech wax coating may serve two purposes, one corrosion resistance; but two to hold the rounds steady in the magazine. It was kind of disappointing to say the least, but now Ill just try to stick with non corrosive ammo in the waxed case.

Yes but the pins don seem to be able to go in enough to be locked in place or the groves for the pin holder are not wide enough.
 
did you line the pins up to the holes on the other side of the receiver? they should go through the other side and sit flush to the outside of the receiver. it can be a bit tricky to line them up.if the pin is fully seated there should be almost no gap between the pin head and the receiver. got more pictures? i can maybe help if i could see the way you put the pins in. put them in as you think they go and take a few pics of the gun from different sides focusing on the pin areas.
 
Looks like the T-bar that holds everything together is not in the right spot. Would you be able to remove the BCG & the rear cover then take a picture of the safety side of the inside of the reciever for me please?
 
it looks like the pin holder has been struck on the right hand side near the sear pin. is there a space between the holder by the trigger pin and inside receiver wall? it should be tight ... i would just return it and get another. i advise you to learn this everything about this gun how all parts work together. i cant really tell from the pic is the trigger pin sticking thru the other side?

It's bent. When you look at the T it should be tight up against the wall of the reciever. This is why you are noticing issues. Return for a replacement as to correctly repair this it would void your warenty.

improper size grove on a pin? i never had that problem , altho quite possible , more lightly a pin that didnt go in all the way .

have to tried tapping lightly the pin in ?
 
The pin is all the way through, as far as it can go in that picture. Either the grove that that clips slides into is to small, the clip is out too far from the sides, or the head on the pin is too thick on the interior side not allowing the pin to go all the way in.

I read up on this rifle before purchasing, about 2 months worth, and learned about the typical gremlin fix, but appeared to fine in that regards. I easily recognized the problem, once the gun was a part. I am just unable to do it myself.

It is going back bright and early Tuesday for repair or return (most likely return and order a different one either through them or Frontier Firearms). The 17 shots I was able to take with it were so fun, I just have to have a properly working one.
 
Well, just got back from dropping the rifle off at Williams Arms. Fingers crossed its an easy fix, however, a completely different rifle wouldn't bother me. Would just have to wait longer.
