So I'm looking to finally delve into the realm of tactical shotguns... I'm looking at the UTS-15, KSG, Benelli M4... or something else (as the title indicates). Anything that anyone can add to my list of pros/cons?

I like everything with the Benelli M4 except the price (no surprises there) and the collapsible stock. I like the ergonomics better on the KSG (particularly the lower rail for a vertical grip), but I'm hesitant with Kel-Tec's track record for reliability (availability sucks, too). The UTS-15 satisfies my Aliens obsession, but it does appear a bit bulkier. Or should I be looking for something else entirely? Comments welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

I love the M4 but the price is up there. I got a Supernova tactical instead. Yeah it's not a semi but I can have more in the mag. KSG is on my list as well. But until demand calms down it won't be in my safe for a while...

You gotta go KSG...7+7+1...at a price point much lower than the M4. As a dealer I'm guessing you want to sell lots so why not jump on the KT train while it's hot?

The M4 is semi-automatic, so it's not exactly a fair comparison. I like the ergonomics with the KSG and the fact that it's a bit slimmer than the UTS-15. On the other hand, it is almost a pound heavier, too. And there is the reliability issue with Kel-Tec.

I own the M4,great shotgun.....but if you are thinking of a semi to try....get the
Hatsan MP-A.....very relable and fires everything I put through it.

What reliability issue do you speak of? I can't speak for the KSG (yet) but I do have an RFB and have had no issues with it...my son had a SUB2000 and it ran like a top (he needed cash so sold it).

Just haven't heard many glowing endorsements for Kel-Tec products, and more than a few negative comments in general. Most of the salivating seems to be over the price point than anything else. If I had to fault anything specific on the KSG, it would probably be the heavier weight and more complicated loading system.

Go Rem 870 til you know what you want and what you want a tac shotgun to do. Semi or pump obviously have different pro's. And if its "your $$" or an inventory "R&D ;);)" tool.. its not too much of an experiment.

Fair enough...for other things to consider...how about the Mossberg 930?...everyone seems crazy to get it...like everyone though...the 5 round limit really hurts the semi's (IMHO).

I'd go with an M4. You can ghost load it so you can shoot 7 total, I've heard the 930 can do 8 of 2 3/4" so both are great for capacity on a semi. Used on the exchange Benelli M4s go from $1500-$1900 but you really do get what you pay for. If a pump only mag fed was the gun of choice I like the Valtro PM-5 14" (much smoother than all the Dominions I had) or a Benelli 14" Supernova Tactical in a tube fed shotgun. Anyway a top of the line shotgun will run $1000 around total so you might want to spend a few hundred more and get the best (M4:))

I've shot an M4 and I really liked it a lot. I just want one, really great shotgun. I like the tactical look of the UTS-15 and KSG (although the probable 2-year+ waiting list for the KSG probably precludes that - at least in the interim).

I've had most of the tac type shotguns, coolest pump I thought was the Valtro PM-5 14". Well your new shotgun bug is gonna be a lot cheaper than a black rifle bug, that is not a poor mans hobby for sure!
